I work at a hotel in New York State, and as part of my agreement of employment, it states that I won't be getting any breaks or meal periods. I'm pretty much fine with this, but another employee seems to have an issue with it.

So the question is, is it required by law?  Shifts are normal. 7-3,3-11,11-7.

Funny part is, said employee (front desk) spends a huge amount of their shift doing nothing or watching tv, which is fine.

It depends if you are the only person there to do the job (like a doorman, security guard, etc.) and cannot leave, there is an exemption in the law for this.

Well that would fit, then. Just one person at the desk.

Thanks

I don't, personally, but the restrooms are 10' from the desk. People will wait.
