Archived [ARCHIVED THREAD] - Question about quartz wristwatches (swiss army)

I have 2 brand new wristwatches (one is Swiss Army and one is Victorinox) that have been sitting in their original boxes for at least 5 years.  If the battery dies and is not changed, could this damage the watches?  They're not ticking so I suspect I'll have to put new batteries in them to find out for sure.

Change it cause batteries will leak. I screwed up a watch this way
