...in California. I was talking with some of my co-workers, someone asked this question. If you or your wife were at home and saw a man grabbing your child in your yard, could you use a gun to stop him in California? DO you have to have a CCW permit in order to use a weapon to stop a crime? What if *he* sees you run out of the house with a gun and refuses to stop, can YOU be prosecuted for shooting him, to stop him? I'm not sure of the tight gun laws in Kali...but, for some people in Florida, we think you Kali's can't use a gun..period. In light of these putrid acts...I would like to hear what LAWS would be in effect for gunowners in Kali to actually protect your 5 yr old daughter from being raped an murdered. On a personal note...I would love to empty about 31 rounds of .223 into this pos body. [blue]NAKED[/blue]

No doubt. This isn't really a "can you use a gun" type question. It's more of a "who's going to the store (with the police escort) to pick up some more ammo so that everybody on the block can get their turn shooting this guy's dead body" type question.

In the Lone Star State, God Bless it, we can shoot someone for trying to steal personal property. If I lived in Kali, I think I'd be inclined to shoot the motherf***er. What jury would convict you for shooting a slimeball p.o.s. who is trying to kidnap a little girl?

Totally agree. In this situation, a sane person doesn't give a rat's hairy @$$ what happens to be legal this year in this state in this municipality under this administration. One does the right thing and then initiates damage control. If you have some really good friends in the neighborhood, maybe they can help you with the body. [:D] If not, you claim that you slipped on the grass while cleaning your weapon. 15 times. Damned grass.

When your child is in danger you deal with it NOW! Worry about the law later.

Law? Somebody messing with my kids better pray to god that the law shows up and saves them, otherwise, he is gone and will be forgotten.

Another perspective on what's already been said: If you were at home and you saw someone grabbing your child, would you be willing to spend the rest of your life in jail for shooting him in the back? If you have to think about the answer to that question for even a second, your child is as good as dead.

Why would the question ever come up?? Take him out, and anyone who tried to stop you from saving your child.

I really don't have anything constructive to add to this, I cannot even think of this without tearing up. As the father of a 7 year old girl and 1 year old boy, I can say without hesitation and with great certainty that I would rain down with great vengeance and furious anger upon anyone who was attempting to harm in any way my kids. There very simply is no more hideous an act than to harm a child. And there very simply is no act of prevention, or act of retribution, too strong to deal with such a goblin. I could kill, in this case, and have a taco afterwards, my concience would be that unaffected. I truly hope there is a special terror awaiting these individuals while here on earth, and after.

If you mean the bit about shooting a fleeing suspect, if he has her and is dragging her away, he is not a fleeing suspect. He is still in the act of committing the kidnapping, so it would be a moot point. I have a 15 month old grandson. Woe be unto anyone who ever even tries to harm him. That yoyo will not need the cops on TV telling him 'we are coming for you' as we saw today. He will have already been 'came for' and all the cops will have to do is zip up the body bag.
