This subject came up in another thread but was never answered/noticed:

Doesn't the Koran forbid homosexuality?

And isn't it an offense punishable by death?

In T.E. Lawrence's Seven Pillars of Wisdom he says it was fairly common among the bedouin men. I guess along the same lines as long stints in prison. And they were all hardcore "Will of Allah" muslims.

But does the Koran actaully say: Thou shalt not Buggeryith with thy neighbor, friend, or any other pervert?

I work with a muslim guy from Iran and he says they chop your head off there if you are found to be gay.

Thank you, that is what I'd always heard. I'm wondering if it says that in the Koran, or is it just that they don't like homos? Ask him for me please and reply with his answer? Please?

here are some quotes with references from another site:

Is Homosexuality Allowed In Islam?
The Koran contradicts itself on this topic as well. The following verses state that homosexuality is forbidden.

(Koran 4:16)
If two men among you is guilty of lewdness, punish
them both...

(Koran 27:55)
Would ye really approach men in your lusts rather
than Women? Nay, ye are a people (grossly) ignorant!

Now the verses below are in clear contradiction of the above verses.

(Koran 52:24)
Round about them will serve, to them, boys
(handsome) as pearls well-guarded.

(Koran 56:17)
Round about them will serve boys of perpetual
freshness.

(Koran 76:19)
And round about them will serve boys of perpetual
freshness: if thou seest them, thou wouldst think
them scattered pearls.

Mohammed could not make up his mind about Sodomy. He prohibits it on earth, but then he says that Muslims can enjoy homosexuality in Paradise. It is a well established fact that many famous Muslims were practicing homosexuals who looked towards the Koran to justify their actions. For example, Babar, the moghul king was madly in love with a young boy named Baburi. Kuttubuddin Aibak, another Muslim ruler of India used to dress up as a woman and dance in a vulgar manner.

So the question should have been posted in the new religion forum? If so, I'm sorry, I forgot about that new one.

The last post is true from what I've read in the Koran.

I think it is a stretch to say young boys attending you in Heaven means homosexualy however.

I'm not sure that the 3 verses cited really contradict the first two...

+1

I'm uncomfortable with the concept of "boys of freshness" but it doesn't necessarily prove Islam = NAMBLA.

And they are encircled with eternal children. If you see them you will think they are pearls which have been scattered about.

quote]

Edited with a literal translation. Homosexuality is forbidden in the Quran. We have the same story of God destroying Sodom and Gammorah(sp?) It is true that some people do commit homosexuality and even worse, child rape and claim to Muslim. There are some within Christianity too. These people twist the texts to suit their desires. Look at the 911 hijackers. The Quran forbids the murder of innocents. Period. But when someone has set their mind to an evil task, they will find ways to justify it.

Happens all the time with people misappropriating the Bible for their evil purposes.

And all the "fair minded" IMMEDIATELY believe Christianity must be bad then.

That is exactly why I study the Bible to understand Christianity, not pass judgement based on some T.V. preacher asking little old ladies for their retirement pensions. While alot of people are judging Islam right now based on the actions of murderous insurgents in Iraq, don't forget those are Muslim Iraqi soldiers that are fighting alongside our boys to protect their country. And they are just as much if not more of a target.
