Posted this else where, figured you people like dogs too.

She was found on the side of the road, in a ditch on a rainy day by one of my wifes co-worker on 09/27/2007. I picked her up that day. She has been to the vet twice and has/had a bad case of the worms and a UTI. She is taking meds for both.

Her name is now Daphnie and she is a quick learner. First couple days she was very timid. Now she is acting like a puppy.

Weight is 9.4 pounds as of Friday and age is about 12 weeks as far as the vet can guess.

I grew up with GSD's, but this is my first mutt. Vet seems to think a Border Collie / Bull Terrier mix. I say more Bull Terrier than anything.

Stuff? You mean everything?

A small amount of wheat germ and a small spoonful of yoghurt (a teaspoon of each for now -- that's a little pup) will help digestion. Good looking pup. Start training early.

You rescued you best friend.

She will always be there for you.

Good on you , sir.

The wife has been wanting a dog anyway. I have been making her wait till we moved out of the apartment and into a house.

We moved into a house about 2 months ago now, really no excuse. Besides, once I saw her and she licked me, I couldn't not care for her.

Cute!

I didn't know dog could get UTIs. Poor puppy.

You might also try a small amount of ground flax seed meal (again, a teaspoon) and a small lump of no-fat cottage cheese. Those four things (flax seed meal, cottage cheese, yoghurt, and raw wheat germ) will get your little girl's GI tract running again after the meds.

She's a cute dog, I like her markings and her ears. Good Luck

My dog Ranger has a similar story to yours. He was, we guess, about 4 weeks and all of 4 lbs and worm infested running along the side of the road in an industrial area in town. She just had to have him so we took him in and got him fixed up. He was a frigging monster with his chewing, digging, and nipping. A year and a half later he's a great dog. Hopefully your will be just as awesome.

Nice looking puppy. IMO, there is nothing at all wrong with mutts! Healthier, IMO, as far as genetic defects go.

Yulp. She basically does all that, digs, nips, chews. I am hoping she will grow out of it. But at least she is showing signs of being normal. :)

I'll take a couple tonight when I get home from work and post them. The photo taken above was taken on day 2 after we found her.

Wow! I don't have a current picture of Sam on my PC now but bAt 6½ months she looks enough like Ranger to be related. Here she is @ 10 weeks.

Great job on rescuing that little dog. My next dog will be a rescue dog. My only advice would be to consider egtting a second one as a playmate for when you're not home. Wish I had done that with mine.

Good on ya! It's a very large deposit in the Karma Bank when ya do stuff like this.

Good job saving the pup!

My pure breed dog is great, but I told the wife if we get another dog we're rescuing one. No sense in paying a breeder for a dog when so many need a friend to take them in.

She snoors something crazy, and this morning at about 5:00am, I woke up to her lightly barking in her sleep. :)

You da man :)

Yeah my dog has nightmares sometimes where she'll whine and bark real quiet and her legs will move like she's tryin to run. Makes me laugh and feel terrible all at the same time
