The governor's race is taking another lap through the Bay Area today, with both candidates meeting with groups of key constituents and supporters in San Francisco and on the Peninsula.
Democratic Gov. Gray Davis is set to accept the endorsement of California's largest organization of public safety professionals, the 7,000-member California Union of Safety Employees, or CAUSE, at a Burlingame news conference today.

CAUSE, an umbrella organization representing groups ranging from Fish and Game wardens to California Highway Patrol dispatchers, is expected to deliver the endorsement at 12:30 p.m. at the Hyatt Regency Hotel.

Follow the link, it's about halfway down the page.

Here's a link to the CAUSE web site.

How can these guys call themselves "public safety officers" and then support a gun-grabbing governer? Who's safety are they concerned with, anyway? Obviously, not ours.

When you represent state government jobs you have to support the current adminstration.  If you don't and they win, guess who's out of work for supporting them?  If you don't and they loose, guess who's job might be on the cutting block?

Think about it.  If Bill Clinton's friends supported Bush, do you think Bush would have made them part of his administration?

Politics suck when you have a government job.
