I received a call today from a solicitor trying to raise donations for support. I really didn't have a problem with the call just the motivation the telemarketer was trying to use....it kind of insulted my intelligence.
He said the United Nations was considering revoking our 2nd Amendment rights. I told him that the United Nations could not revoke the 2nd Amendment of the Constitution. He insisted that the UN would be voting on this....soon, and asked if I'd like to send a message to the UN to keep their hands off our 2nd Amendment rights.
Now there are a lot of things that could threaten our rights, but the UN isn't one of them. I told him I was more concerned with the future make-up of the Supreme Court, and what Congress might do...I could care less about the UN. I told him he needed better motivation then the a United Nations "threat" to raise funds. That asking for support for realistic threats was one thing but asking me to give money to keep the UN from "revoking" the 2nd Amendment insulted my intelligence.
My God, do these people think we are all tinfoil wearing idiots? What's next "UFO's take the White House", or FEMA comming to get me?
Yes.
His pitch must be working, it just didn't work on you. I'm sure you weren't the first person he called and used that line on. If he is still using it, I'm sure it's working. I would be more disappointed at however told him to tell people that, especially if that someone is part of the NRA.
I'm sure there are a few more people at gun shops and gun shows spreading this BS thanks to this pitch.
