When I was in college, the girl downstairs who I casually had fun with asked if I wanted to go to a live-action role-playing fest in Colorado (because I played Call of Cthulhu with her and the other drama nerds).
"Uhhhhh, sorry but I'm gonna have to miss it. I've got a paper to write." I knew it would be something ridiculous like this movie. Did you see "lightning bolt" guy? He sounds like a 13 year old, but look at him closely. The guy is pushing middle age. He's bald, fer chrissakes. |

It looks like a group playing [url=www.nerolarp.com]NERO[/url]. Hell, I used to play live role playing myself when I was a teenager. Both medieval fantasy and Call of Cthulhu. It was a lot of fun. I constructed all my armor and weapons. We had a similar rule for spells were you repeat the name of the spell 3 times and throw a colored bean bag at the opponent. If the bean bag didn't hit the opponent, the spell failed. It was a clean fun. We weren't out causing problems for others or doing drugs. In many ways it's similar to martial arts sparing.

I used to play D&D and we used to role play some parts but not like that. I also used to be lightly involved with the groups that fight with medival weapons. They actually fight! I found my true love with World War II reenacting.
