Wave,

Unfortunately I didnt see the game since it wasnt on TV out here, but the highlights led me to think it was special plays that put points on the board, not solid offense.

I have my tickets for the season in a pile in front of me and although I am looking forward to tailgating again, I think we have some issues.

QB is questionable at best
RB is beyond a question at this point
We have no real threat at WR
TE has been a question mark for at least ten seasons

So far....<knock on wood> no major injuries besides Curtis....but we have issues.
As with every season, I will hope for the best and expect the worst.
I wish I could say I would be content with a .500 season, but after all these years, I really expect a little more.

One positive thing...Mangini sounds like a real hardass. I have been saying for years that this team needs a coach that will kick their ass the way Parcells did. A players coach like Herm can only do so much. These guys should be afraid of the coach, not buddies with him.

Time will tell, but I think we have a future....still not so sure we did a smart thing passing up Lienart.

NY Jets vs. Redskins -

I know the Jets are supposed to be "rebuilding" this season and many people are predicting they'll finish somewhere near the bottom this year but damn did they look good last night against the Redskins!

I wouldn't read too much into it as Gibb's teams have historically look like shit in the preseason.

Blah....NCAA football is where it's at, It's only pre-season for the NFL and I'm already sick of seeing these fools that can't spell their own fucking name dance around like fools.

In days past, the anticipation of the upcoming NFL season would create in me a tsunami of excitment that would burst forth with great power at the first kickoff and would carry me all of the way through to the Super bowl.

Now I couldn't possibly care less about the NFL.

Watch out for the fish !  (And I'm a Patriot's fan. check the name) If my boy's falter the division is theirs, and with a 13-3 record, which is possible, they could get to SB XLI and that ain't a stretch.

Don't get too excited about the preseason.  Coaches simplify the gameplans, rest star players and don't open up the playbooks (ie trick, complicated plays).  Do take notice of good rookie performances against first string units . . . and

My beloved Colts crushed my heart last year by losing in the playoffs. I really have no interest this year, but I'm sure I'll watch anyway.
