I am in need. I just read a thread about Zenni, but they don't do safety glasses.

Arfcom preferred vendor?

I ordered some from Oakley like a year ago.

Tag. I asked the question in the Zenni thread, and was told to use them, but didn't see any.

I'd personally like a set of sg1s with the earpieces.

I might give them a shot, assuming they let me use my Flex Spending Account card. It is MC branded, so it'll probably work.

I trusted wiley x (non-script) in the army. They'll be my first choice as a mechanic that needs to actually see properly. I think I found some for around 200 on rx-safety, but will wait until I'm not on my phone to place the order.

That's my fault, I should have checked first. It seems they have dropped the safety line in the past three years or so since I ordered mine.

Call me a goober but i'd always wear the "mad scientist" style safety goggles, (not the glasses, but like the goggles that cover the upper front area of your face) with my prescription glasses on underneth.

Those are fine for short use, but I wear safety glasses almost all day at school, and can't imagine that changing in an actual shop.

Just as a bit of help, I just ordered some sg-1s from rx-safety tonight. Should ship soon, and I'll update when they arrive.

I hated to do it, but last time I needed prescription safety glasses, I got them from the Walmart vision center. The frames are made by WileyX, and the clear lenses were $20. They were done in just a few days.

I got a clear pair, and a tinted pair. They've held up well, and I like them.

Given more time, I'll likely check out the online vendors, just to have more variety, and avoid Walmart.

I've ordered from them. Everything was great.

Only downside was they spammed my inbox until I unsubscribed.

I know it's almost exactly like shopping at Wal-Mart but Sam's Club did a great job with prescription safety glasses for me. I got two pairs for 90 dollars each (had brought in a prescription) and I've been using one of them for over two and a half years. They are showing some wear and losing some coating in places but they've protected me through at least a couple very minor arc flashes and from tons of flying debris.

They clean up very well and don't fog like the crappy plastic safety glasses. The correction was exactly as good as a five hundred dollar pair of glasses I bought elsewhere with the same prescription. They also came with excellent, sturdy side shields that didn't look like they were tacked on as an afterthought.

Wiley-X Jake.

Don't go through zenni for safety glasses, they don't have.

I got mine from frames direct. I got the UVEX safety glasses with transition lenses because I work inside and out and they are great.

They even gave me progressive lenses.

You're a fucking goober. I couldn't imagine fucking up my nice glasses doing shit like that. Do your glasses look like they are barely holding on to your head because you fucked them all up? PS: that's not me in my avatar

anyone with a recommended RP style?

How about sources to purchase eyewear in your Rx?

RP was covered by my insurance at the time (last got glasses a few years ago; normally wear contacts). I have Spyllo Suf frames for Rx, while I use Rydons for shooting right now (been meaning to get a pair of Magsters).

I looked up the closest RP Optometrist, went in, and had them order exactly what I wanted (which I already knew before I walked in). You can also order online through RP, though I believe they still have to be delivered via an Optometrist. If you don't order from RP yourself, make sure you actually get them to have RP make the lenses and not just get the frames.
