I use the SureFire type inside the ear earpiece and have the small PTT mic attached to the front of my vest.  A lot of guys use the large mic on their shoulder and plug the earpiece into it.

this.

It took a minor miracle to even get the hand mics that were earpiece compatible. It hink I'm the only guy in the area that uses an earpiece day to day, but I won't be without one.

i use a motorolla shoulder mic on my shoulder with a speaker jack on the side of it. i have a short earpiece that goes from a curly wire to a clear plastic acoustic tube with a surefire earplug on the end. I like this becuase you can temporarilary disconnect the earpiece and use the shoulder mic when you're eating crunchy things on lunch break and dont want you head ringing cause your ear's plugged up. Also theres times you just dont want the ear thing in.

I use the supplied "command mic" and earpiece. I went through three of the Earpro PTT earpieces before I finally gave up. On one of them, the wire broke just above the radio plug, on another the contacts broke and the third just flat quit working.

The command mic is big and clunky, but it works and has yet to fail me.

dang,  yall have to really be loving that thing to justify spending +250 on a mic.

the radio cord doesnt bother me enough to go to the freelinc 200 but the little bluetooth is pretty cool looking. Anybody know how well that thing stays in your ear and if its completely waterproof?

Would suck to loose it in a fight or rainstorm....

We just went to the Motorola APX 7000. The mics use the 3.5mm jacks, so I think I'll just order us the listen only ear piece that Motorola sells. That being said, we are looking at the Freelinc Mics. We are on the DOJ's network and thus have to be P25 compliant. However, Freelinc says they can hardcode the Mic to s specific radio, so that might solve the security issue.
