ortiz is no chump, he could easily win if he got on top of liddel. problem is Liddel has the best takedown defense in the ufc.  I think ortiz is gonna be pumped for this fight. Its gonna be gooood. I'm excited

I say Liddell in the second with a knockout. Ortiz has been playing with Jenna Jameson lately and I think he is distracted.

Did you see the last fight?  Ortiz appeared completely defensive, almost apprehensive.  Normally he gets right up in there and takes the center of the ring.  Not with Liddell, which may say something about his level of fear for the man.  Tito also has a huge ego, which Chuck will naturally exploit, and I am sure Tito will enter the ring even more cautiously as he did last time to avoid the same kind of punishment.

Chuck will own him in the first round again.

I wouldn't bet the farm on Liddell. I did see the last fight and from where I sat Tito held his own until the thumb. I also saw Hughes get thumbed and Big John immediately stepped in to give him time. That never happened for Tito. Hughes has since gotten his ass handed to him and it wouldn't surprise me a bit to see Liddell go down too. He's startin to look cocky and Tito DOES have something to prove.

Tito was overconfident in the first fight and wanted to stand and trade with Chuck, well, we know how that turned out.  This time around Tito will have one goal, get it to the ground.   I think its going to be a pretty close fight, but the public has bet pretty strong on Chuck and bumped Tito up to a +250 underdog, so i had to put some money on Tito when he was that big of a dog.

I aint getting it..ARFCOM tag for results.

I have been let down my last three orders. Dana White will have to fix some fights to go three rounds to get me to buy them again   Best brawls have always been the spike shown big fights.

I like Tito....I hope he wins.

Personally, I can't stand Tito Ortiz.

He reminds me of my little brother in his lack of respect and big mouth.

Unlike my little brother Ortiz is actually a competent fighter.

Ortiz is good...but he isn't all that good.

Liddel, however, has a spectacular gift: He can knock a fellow out with one shot. For the life of me I cannot understand why his weird punching style is so effective, but I have watched him win fight after fight in Pride and the UFC. I have seen him seemingly getting his behind handed to him in Pride fights and literally shut the other guy down by landing a single punch.
I'm not talking about scrub fighters either...

My personal hope is that Liddel busts Ortiz so badly in the mouth that he can't talk for at least a month or two.

Looking at things objectively....

Ortiz had a fight with Forrest Griffin. He threw his absolute best at Griffin, pinning him against the fence and throwing elbow after elbow....and Griffin got back up and started throwing bombs that hurt Tito.

Tito narrowly pulled that fight off....Against a relative newcomer to MMA. And he looked like a whipped dog in the entire second round of the fight because he threw his best at Griffin, but Griffin kept coming.

If Liddel doesn't get taken down, or if Liddel gets up after taking the best Ortiz can throw at him, then Ortiz has absolutely no chance to win. Even if Liddel is getting his butt handed to him, he can turn the entire fight around with a single punch. He has done it before on numerous occasions. If Liddel is at least as tough as Forrest Griffin, then Ortiz is screwed, because Liddel has a proven ability to put the lights of his opponent out in short order.

Anyone can win an MMA fight at any time. But barring something truly spectacular (like Liddel not taking the fight seriously...) I don't see Ortiz winning.

I truly like both fighters for different reasons. But got give the nod to Chuck. He  throws those bombs from such bizarre angles and I don't think any other fighter in MMA reacts to openings and mistakes from his opponents faster  IE: Randy sliping after nailing Chuck and boom the counterpunch puts him to sleep. Or pouring it on Tito after the accidental thumb and not giving the ref a chance to give Tito a deserved break.
But Tito is hungry and his cardio is unsurpassed. It's a totaly different Tito from the 1st fight. Also Tito was not 100% for the fight with Forrest and should have stopped trying to headhunt a guy who's head is made of stone..

Liddell won in the third by a ref stoppage. Ortiz was curled up in the fetal position as the iceman was raining down headshots. Ortiz did a lot better than their first fight though.

Arlovski won his fight too.

Quinton Jackson & Crocop will both be making their UFC debut in Feb at UFC 67.
Jackson is fighting Marvin Eastman again. Crocop is fighting Eddie Sanchez. After his fight Liddell said he is looking forward to a rematch w/ Jackson.

I disagree. He was curled up in the fetal position with Liddell on top pounding his jawline and eye socket. That's not defense that's please God make it stop. He did a good job of defending in rnd 1 though when Liddell had him mounted.

I have never been a fan of Tito until recently. He is an arragant SOB but he is a dangerous fighter and I like how he thanked our troops on national TV. I agree, he seemed apprehensive tonight. Understandably. The addition of Cro Cop and Jackson is going to be a shake-up in the UFC.

The Griffin/Jardin fight pissed me off. I really wanted griffin to win but Jardin definitely earned that win.

Tito probably broke his foot on Liddel's shin.

Ortiz was NOT defending himself when the ref stopped it.

I recorded it and played it back many times.

This isn't Rome where we kill the loser. You guys are nuts.

The reason why Ortiz was apprehensive is because he was getting his ass kicked.

He got thoroughly wupped.

Agreed. It was a good stop. The goal is to have a good clean fight, not end with someone in the hospital.

Not really.

Liddell is a good fighter and has the ability to last in a fight and even if he is getting his butt handed to him, he can knock you out.

He is not alone in that. There are some guys fighting in Pride that I think can give him a run for his money.

The Croatian everyone is hyping might be a possibility, but I have seen him get dropped with a good shot too....That's Liddell's specialty. Liddell has won his share of Pride fights...I only saw him lose one, and that was by a split decision.

Right now he seems to be in his prime, but I wouldn't call him unstoppable. Anyone who steps into the ring can win a fight. You never know when a bone will break or just the right spot will get hit with a lucky shot....

Tito behaves like that whenever he can't easily dominate the other fighter. He's a lot of bluster, but if you can defend a takedown or even survive one, then he doesn't really know what to do with you.

Tito didn't protest the stop. Tito accepted his loss graciously, and gave praise to the superior fighter. This all seemed slightly out of character for Tito, but it did improve my opinion of him. The fight lasted slightly longer than I expected.

I was glad to see Leben choked out by MacDonald(and choked OUT he was).

Cruz looked way too soft to tangle with Arlovski as did De Souza against Alves.

Jardine earned his money and whipped the favorite Griffin pretty thoroughly.

All in all some good fights.

I dunno about that.

Liddell has a strong chin, and great defense against the take-down.  Factor in the unrelenting striking ability he has, and I stand by my claim that at this time, he is one of the best.

I like to modify my earlier statement.  He isn't unstopable, as everyone is fallable, but I will say at this time, he is the least likely to get beat.

I thought it was a good fight, but not as satifying a defeat of Tito as I wanted: a no need for a ref type destruction.  It must have been very hard for Tito when he realized that, for whatever reason, he could not get Chuck on the ground, and all he was left with was stand-up where he could not beat him.  Tito was gracious in defeat though, and that says a lot about him.

I have more respect for Lieben too.  I can appreciate a guy who will be put to sleep before he gives up because he's in a bad spot.  There looks to be a lot of "Oh, I can't get out of this so I'll just tap."  Lieben gave all he had.

I think it may be good that Griffin lost.  I like him, and felt- along with a lot of others, that he was "supposed to" win and that was foolish.
