I'm making a concerted effort to quit smoking.

I need all the help I can get.

I smoked only 3 yesterday and none so far today.

My goal it to be completely quit by New Year's.

I did it in April of '99.  One of the hardest things that I have ever accomplished........took many months before the desire to even just eat a pack went away.

Incoming........but I believe chemo is easier!

Remember drink lots of water, this helps flush the nicotine out.

I will be sending positive thoughts your way, and will have the wife say a prayer. BTW, as of this coming feb 3rd, it'll be 3 years for me. I used zyban(welbutrin) and that really helped.

Oh, and think of all the money that you'll now be able to spend on guns!

You want some help? My mother and father both have cancer, and each have had two heart-attacks a piece. My father needed quintupple by-pass surgery to correct his second HA, and my mother has had a shiny new mitral valve installed in her heart, because the OEM part wen tits-up....All from 30+ years of smoking. Now, how many death sticks are you gonna put in your mouth tomorrow?

Prayers on the way.

Drink LOT'S of water, to help flush the system of the nicotine. It takes 3 days to get it out of your system and kick the physical dependance, then a total of 21 days to kick the mental dependance.

A lot of people, including myself have done it, you will too.

Prayers sent. I am thinking of doing the same, but already feel doomed to failure (again) as I have to think. Tells me I really just don't want to yet. I know I need to but the addicition tells me to do otherwise.

You have half the battle over with already. You have decided to quit. Congratulations.

My prayers are with you for the other half of the battle. May God give you the resolve and strength to follow through.
