Pop tarts are passable if there is no Toaster Strudel.

Then again you can't get peanut butter or chocolate chip Toaster Strudel.

But for the love of all that is holy never buy store brand "Toaster Pastries" expecting Pop Tarts... they are pretty much made out of chinese newspapers and formed sawdust with a hint of flavoring.

Poptarts are tier-one hiking/disaster food. They last forever, are indifferent to crushing, taste pretty good hot or cold, and are absolutely loaded with sugar, calories, and carbs.

Just like eating a chemistry set....

They fit perfectly in the shoulder pocket of ACU's.  And if your ex future-nieces gave you a genuine Pop Tart Pop Tart case, there won't be any breakage.

Used to when they were real pastries. Now they resemble ground cardboard with a little flavoring...
Link Posted: 9/11/2013 10:17:31 AM EDT
They are one of those things I have to specifically be in the mood for before I can eat them.

Just got to leave them in the package. I did some assistant guide work in Northern Canada and most mornings everything was frozen.  Armpit oven made sure I had quick breakfast

Did they kick you out of the HTF for that?

Strawberry unfrosted, lightly toasted--that's the only way I can stand them.  I haven't had one in years.
Link Posted: 9/11/2013 10:45:29 AM EDT
I still enjoy a strawberry pop tart every once in a while.
Link Posted: 9/11/2013 10:45:29 AM EDT
I think that they slip a little bit of crack cocain into the smore's and chocolate chip flavored versions.

Whenever I would get a box of MRE's from one of my military buddies, I would always get a kick from pulling a genuine pack of Pop Tarts from the contents of one or more of them.

Years ago they made an apple flavored one that was awesome.
They no longer make them.

While I'm on the subject though:  Carnation Breakfast bars were SO yummy as a kid.  So were Breakfast Squares (made by a different company).

No, this was a frosted Dutch Apple one.  It was awesome.  Came out in the 1980's.
