Well, fixing polls doesn't really change public opinion. If you think we are winning because a bunch of gun nutz go "hit a poll," well, then I'm not sure I could explain it to ya ;)

Even though I vote in these polls all the time, I can't help but think it's self defeating.

Sure, we can tip the scales but, then it makes it more difficult for us to determine exactly what and how many we're up aginst... I like to know who my enemies are.

Besides, the results will change no ones mind, the poll takers know when the box is being stuffed and if it's favorable to us it'll get buried anyways.

So now it's up to %61.8 yes, %38.1 no.

(the damage is done anyways, so why the Hell not [:)])

If you channeled that time and energy into writing political representatives, perhaps you could make a *real* difference.

Please don't do that.  They can tell when you do that and may remove the poll because of it.

Why don't you take a math class.[flame] One of the 1st things they will teach you in stat is quality of your sample. Since it was not random and only includes people online who look at a particular webpage it will never be a valid poll.

So they are just begging me to further skew thier numbers. Im going to Del Taco in a bit but 1st im going to run EZMacro and run this poll up to 90%

At least a "hammered poll" won't show up as "news" in some report.  I have a theory that polls that come out in favor of gun-control tend to show up in news stories as a hard poll, which DOES do some damage regardless of how BS it is.

I think that by hammering every poll we find, it reduces the chances that such polls will be used against us.  It will also leave the distinct impression (over a period of years) that gun-control is a losing issue, whether true or not.

Sure, we'll never hear about a hammered poll on the nightly news, and sure it is never scientific, but there are other intangible results:

1)  Less false polling data to show support for gun control.
2)  Remind folks that pro-gunners are still out there, and are paying attention.
3)  Help people realize that polls are often skewed.
4)  Leaves the impression that the internet is 'conservative'.  The liberals have TV, newsprint, and magazines, conservatives dominate radio and the internet.

These polls will never be accurate, so I'd just take the intangible benefits.

I didn't say I was against "hammering" polls. Just so the "hammer" doesn't think he's done a lot for the "cause" it's all good :)

We are a minority. We have a lot of work to do. Not just anti-gun people are anti-black rifle.

Have fun with the polls, but stay focused on the task at hand. Write to your reps. Introduce non-gun owners to shooting. Introduce non-black rifle owners to black rifles. There is a lot we can do that is much more effective than "hammering" polls. :)

Another vote for freedom, which also makes me believe that they will probably disregard the findings of this poll. It doesn't suit "their" version of the facts.
