The dealer down the street is doing this now....he claims it`s a state law, but he`s really doing it to cover his ass....it`s ok with me cause i get a free trigger lock with each purchase!!!!![pistol]

Yes, all handguns, shotguns and rifles have to be sold with a gun locking devices after November 1, 2000.

Q.    Does this only apply to new guns, or to used guns as well?

The law applies to all retail sales, whether the guns are new or used.

We had the same crap pass here in Michigan. It was kinda funny when the gun lock I "Had to buy" to pick up My .50BMG would pass right through the trigger gaurd, unlocked or locked!

Just another $4 (At walmart) tax, If You ask Me.

And: Am I the only one that see's a distinction between 1.Mandatory SALE of gun locks with guns and 2.Mandatory USE of gun locks on guns?
