http://www.wltx.com/story/news/2014/11/26/richland-responds-to-questions-over-vehicle-with-rims/70106064/ Lt. Curtis Wilson says the car has been taken offline as a patrol vehicle and is being transitioned to something the department can use for educational purposes. View Quote Wilson says a sound system has been added to the car as well as the rims, but he says those things get the attention of children so deputies can teach them about the dangers of drugs and other risky behaviors. According to Wilson, the department has been able to re-purpose the vehicle through confiscated drug money, not tax dollars. |

It is tough to imagine with a still picture. I can't see the trunk vibrating from the bass.
They donk'd out a cop car, well not like its Neva been dun befo.
One of the local PDs around here had a BMW and an Excalliber they paint up in cop car colors. They even used the BMW for patrol. |
But the truth is drug money bought those rims and sound system. Just saying...
See kids, when you deal drugs you can afford cool shit like rims and sound systems
Hooray for civil forfeiture!
They say it was confiscated drug money.. Was the money confiscated after due process and a trial? I highly doubt it. |
Whether it was confiscated after a trial, or without a trial...it was still confiscated from capitalists who dared to sell voluntary buyers what the free market desired.
Is this the point where we start talking about crypto-Marxists? |
Ah stealing money from citizens. The war on drugs is a failure. In high school and freshman/sophomore/junior year of college it was easier to get weed than beer.
Just an observation. I don't do drugs. Not because I think they're bad, but because my job thinks they're bad. |
Thats what all the old cop cars look like around here. With exception to the lights and stickers. Ugliest fucking cars ever put together.

More like when you rob drug dealers. Not the first time one gang has jacked another and spent the money on flashy bullshit to look cool and recruit the younger generation. View Quote View All Quotes View All Quotes Quoted:

"Stealing from citizens." Use tax dollars? Nope. You'd then be bitching about your tax dollars. There's no winning when people just hate police because it's the cool thing to do. |

The clear message is allow people to deal drugs (illegally) and then confiscate their money and other ill gotten gains. Nope, no potential for corruption there, none at all. |

Unless the perp stole the money from someone confiscating it and spending it for your own purposes is nothing short of theft. And if the perp stole it then at least make an honest attempt to return it.
If a fucking McDonalds employee can do it, then so can the cops. And for fuck's sakes LEO's, we've supported all of you throughout the Ferguson thing, help us out here. We want to support you, but when we see you taking money that's not yours and blinging a squad car, for ANY purpose, it makes it tough.

My town took possession of a drug dealer's (tricked out) car and turned it into a D.A.R.E. vehicle.

Meh, thread is full of haters. Lott is a good Sheriff, and keeps his house cleaned out with bad cops. Do something stupid as one of his officers, you're unemployed. And he does his best to make sure they never work in LE again.
And he's signed off twice on my Form 4's |
