Police Surround Midtown House, Shoot Dog
OMAHA, Neb. -- Omaha police said they had surrounded a house at 49th and Hickory streets on Saturday afternoon.

Police said they initially got a call regarding a possible hostage situation there. Just after 5:30 p.m., two people came out of the house and paramedics put one of them on a stretcher.

Four people are in police custody.

The Humane Society is also at the scene, officials said, because officers had to shoot a pit bull.

One of them came out of the house and was put on a stretcher. I guess walking the rest of the way to the ambulance was just too difficult.

But knowing local TV stations, what are the chances it really was a pit bull?  It was probably a poodle that happened to be black.z
