I am enjoying a bit of downtime thanks to the Christmas break and have actually spent time watching television in the last few days. Apart from the temporary IQ drain of being exposed to the drivel that passes for television, I actually discovered a horribly disturbing fact:

Heather Locklear, one of the lovliest women to have ever graced a screen anywhere, has had plastic surgery. Not just any plastic surgery, but has had that rediculous collagen injection into her lips, so that she now has the collagen duck lips.

Proof?

That is what Ms. Locklear's lips looked like before.

Now here is a very recent picture:

Notice how uneven her upper lip looks, and how much "plumper" they appear. The front view isn't good, but the side view shows the full duck effect.

I noticed it when I saw a promo for some TV episode she was on:

In this elevator scene she turns full profile and the duck effect is in full view. Again, compare the above set of lips with these:

I simply cannot understand it. What posesses a perfectly lovely woman to do such a horrible thing to her face?

Thankfully it appears that she has only had a very small injection into her upper lip, but usually these types of procedures are not where this kind of thing ends.

They're all nuts.

Sure it was injections and not implants?
Most of them are going for implants for that entrancing clown look.

She isn't hideous.

But she HAS diminished her looks, as almost all plastic surgery victims have. She has not improved her looks by trying to balloon up her upper lip.

What is worse, it might be step one in a series of surgeries that will destroy her legendary good looks.

I don't know what effect these women are going for but most of the time they end up looking like female impersonators.

And she got anal bleaching..I don't have a place to post the pics, though.

Dude you're trying to compare her now to how she looked 20 years ago!

I still think she's about the hottest thing since the sun.

She is still hot..............but Heather Thomas from "The Fall Guy" beats her hands down!!!

Just her upper lip.

She's still lovely.

But she will not remain lovely if she continues this stuff.

That's just it: She has done very well with her non-enhanced lips for 2 decades. Why all of a sudden the lip job?

Heather, was lovely back when, and she is lovely now.

I guess us old timers like to see women age gracefully and not panic.

We can take it ladies

Age is the greatest fear in Hollywood. They all must do things to keep from looking older. As you age, your eyes droop and your lips get thin. (Note her eye lift too!)

It is not an issue for us ordinary mortals.

Yeah, but some of us can't.  Besides, how else are women supposed to combat the 'I want to trade you in for a younger model' mindset that so many men seem to have?

I think Heather was beautiful then, and she's beautiful now.  I don't think that the injections in her lips made her smile crooked, I think it's just like that naturally.  It's cute.

ETA: Us, meaning women.  I'm not lumping myself into the plastic surgery club.  Never done it, but can't say that I never will.

I understand SP1Grrl,

But if someone spends enough time with a women, I would hope they have more to go on, when their

If you are with a guy that has that shallow mindset then there is your problem. Its NOT you. (Not directed at you... I am Generically speaking)

I have always said it and always will. I plan on spending my life FARRRRRR away from hospitals, Why the hell would I want myself or my wife go to one BY CHOICE! I had a customer die on the operating table during a 'routine' plastic surgery... shit happens and that is Darwin at work.

I think women are like fine wines... Yeah when I was a kid I LOVED grape juice, now I rather have wine. And as they get older they get better.

Besides, I would rather have a woman with a GREAT attitude and respect for herself and me than a ditzy model that is just eye candy and have NOTHING to have a meaningful conversation with.

I was in a band with two twin skinny gorgeous California blonde twins. Only problem was they were UGLY AS SIN within a week because their attitudes and moral compass showed their ugly demeanor.

I'm with the Doc on this one.  Looks work on me for about 10 minutes.  After that, a woman better have some personality and intelligence to back it up.

I don't think what Heather Locklear has done is anything to get too concerned about.  I didn't know about Meg Ryan or Melanie Griffath.  That's sad.  Both are pretty dang young.  Im pretty sure they're both younger than I am.   The whole "all things in moderation" seems to ring loud and clear.

If I had unlimited resources I would have a few wrinkles removed.  Nothing major but crows feet are not fun!

When my lovely wife turned 40 I made the mistake of making the obligatory "I guess it's time to trade you in for two twenties" joke.  Without a moment's hesitation she replied, "You're not wired for 220!"

Why can't all women be beautiful and dumb?  The smart ones are hard.

Like I said, she is just ruined!

For me, there are not enough "sultry vixen types" in the world to trade for one ultra cute "girl next door" like Meg Ryan and others like her.

Girl Next Door types will ALWAYS be cute, no matter their physical age. The ultra hot vixens tend to end up looking like they are used up. They try and maintain something that is un-achievable in the end.

It has gone too far? Perhaps. I can count at least 7 females ive known or know personally that have had breast "enhancements" performed. That in itself is spreading like an epidemic. Not that its all bad.
