Archived [ARCHIVED THREAD] - Planting sunflowers for doves, need some info on how to do it right. Any advice? Keep it legal.

My buddy had got 40 acres of pasture land with a creek running through it and some hardwoods as well.  We decided we would try to fix a place to dove hunt.  Of course we will do it legal since it is a federal violation if we goof up.  I'd like to know what is best to plant, sunflowers, millet or a mix or what?  I got a tractor, disc, bushhog, and a spreader. Thanks
