My mom rest her soul ,would do the same but also wrapp the dogs in bacon she would cook so it was still limp

Same here.

I then make a sauce using spicy brown mustard, honey, and cock sauce (one of the few good uses for cock sauce)

Or, just use trader joes golden barbecue sauce.
