This is why our military does what it does. If it prevents the human filth from getting away with causing shit like this, I say it's money well spent. I cant really express my true feelings about the people behind this but I am sure most of you all have the same feelings. http://newsimages.quartz.synacor.com/ap_photos//7a3ecdd6-5855-4437-ac6d-2e8a84af0159.jpeg May those mother fuckers burn in hell. |

What a terrible day. Sometimes when they're doing a television history piece on it, or radio playback of the day it happened, I still don't want to relive it.
Wait, why are we in Afghanistan again? Oh, never mind......the stomach-less American people have short memories.
(not condoning how it's been handled the whole time, but there is a reason we're there) |
I have a DVD worth of news clips from 9/11....Can't stand to watch them as it pisses me off to no end.
Thanks, I didn't need to see that again when I got to see that in person.
I'll never forget that day as long as I live.
I suppose most of us won't. |
It really tweaks on the heart strings. When I went to NYC last year I walked past a couple of station houses while out and about in midtown. The tribute plaques on the walls made me feel very sad. RIP to those in the photos. I'm sure glad our country bagged OBL. Honestly, it still doesn't feel like it's enough. |
Damn... I hate seeing that pic but it does do some good to keep everything in perspective
That's why it pissed me off when I heard Presbo say yesterday, "Muslims died on 9-11, too". Yeah how about the 20 motherfuckers that perpetrated it, you think!!!??? Yeah, let's remember those fuckers.

Nothing can prevent people hellbent on killing from killing, in a free country.
That said, kill everyone involved, their parents, siblings, and pets. And piss on their graves. |
I first learned of the attack on arfcom. Was at work, I usually surfed for a bit to get the day started. Posts started flooding in, switched on the tv we had and followed it the rest of the day. Strange, surreal day. It brought home to America that the world is a dangerous place, that we really do need to think horrible thoughts because that's exactly what the bad guys are doing. A tragic, horrible kick to our collective nuts.

anybody have the means to determine when that picture was taken? just curious how long after the building fell.

They need to feel the legal fire, and also the real fire that they stoked. I think you could explain your feelings a bit further. Leaving it at "I am sure most of you all have the same feelings." is a bit vague... |

I was at the Pentagon on 9/11 working as a Firefighter and Paramedic. I only saw clips of news segments in the days after. Would it be possible to get a copy of your DVD? |

We still haven't done enough damage to those scum shits. +1 Unfortunately, the bar for carpet-bombing an entire region of rocks and poppy seeds with thermonuclear weapons tends to have a rather high bar to be legitimized, politically. Sure would save us a lot of trouble though. |

Quoted: I'll never forget that day as long as I live. I suppose most of us won't. This. I was 6 hrs behind and sound asleep when I got the call from my dad. Shortly there after the base locked down and the shit hit the fan. |

We still haven't done enough damage to those scum shits. Agreed. OP: imagine in your mind the photo of Bin Laden - dead Bin Laden - with 2 bullet holes in him & his brain matter leaking out. That cheers me up when the memories from 9/11 bum me out. |

Sure would save us a lot of trouble though. But the entire region didn't do that to us. I really feel no need to kill women and children. Or even all the men. Random misdirected violence just makes the survivors hate that much more. |
Has the gentleman in the OP's photo been identified? I realize the name is known, but has the photo been attributed to a name?
Was that person ever identified?
Personally, I say we pull our people out then commence carpet bombing. Fuck them all. |

A long, and very well-written, article in Esquire Magazine about that day, the photograph, the photographer, and attempts to identify the victim.
A poignant read, but well worth your time. The Falling Man by Tom Junod |

Not to bring up more bad memories, but this documentary always tears at me. It captures the emotions of the day & years very well.

At least we made the SHTF in two terrorist shit holes, and sent a message to many more.

It's still wrapped in the plastic and I have yet to be able to open it and watch it. |

I used to force myself to look at the pictures once a year. Then, I don't devolve into the political correctness of sanctioning evil as if it were acceptable.

Quoted: We still haven't done enough damage to those scum shits. Yup. And far too many have forgotten (or choose to ignore it). Having been in and out of those buildings as a kid, then seeing the hole in the ground where they used to be is one of the most moving experiences I have ever had. Words cannot express my anger rage. |

What the jumpers must have been going through in order to make that decision...
Something else that will make your teeth clench is the audio of Kevin Cosgrove making that 911 call from inside the tower..he's on the phone with the operator when the tower drops out from under him http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JbOzSeu6sJA |
