just surface rust from the ocean. I bet they work fine. The chinese on second from the left looks best.
The AK on the far left has a better 'camo' job then some of the Krylon jobs in the 'refinishing' section.

I would not trust my life to them thats for sure. I also wouldn't let someone try and shoot me with one of them on a bet. |
Yes, I am sure they work fine. If you park your car by the ocean overnight you'll get a little bit of rust on your gun unless it's specially treated or plated.
I really like the telephone handset cord sling on the one 2nd from the right.
They are AKs, I bet they all run just fine. |
A couple of them look like they were donors for the Centerfire Sys parts kits being sold last year
They are going up against unarmed ships, and are (generally) careful not to shoot people because they want the ransom.
They could be using prop guns and still do as well. |
Its an AK. Pick it up, take the safety off, $100 says it goes bang 30 times.
look operational to me, just some surface rust where they sat in an evidence bag.
You've never lived by the beach, have ya?
It looks like a couple of them have seat belts for slings.. I guess you do what you have to do.
Surface rust from salt spray. They'll work fine...they're AK's. I've seen 'em with 1/8th inch rust pits, no sights, and dressed up like a fucking piñata...they'll still kill you any day of the week. I have a Chinese AK with rust pits that almost go throught the receiver stamping, and it works fine.
Why for the love of God do they remove the buttstock?
A big pistol? A useless rifle? It's 3rd world cool? No need to aim, it's the will of allah? Well, better of us. |
How long did they lay in an evidence locker without any clean up or care? The ocean is a hostile environment for things made of metal, bouncing around in an open boat with salt spray and high humidity would take its toll on most firearms. However, I bet they will shoot just fine. AKs are well known for reliability.

Wow. I wonder how many times they had to throw them down the driveway to get them to look like that?
get some CLR and some CLP followed up by some gun blue...
each of those could live again with some proper care. |

What is the bayonet on that Chinese rifle made of, aluminum? Chrome or nickel plating over steel. |

Quoted: Quoted: What is the bayonet on that Chinese rifle made of, aluminum? Chrome or nickel plating over steel. +1 Industrian chrome plating. You can believe they work also. Nice fool proof weapons, for the Skinnies. |

I'm willing to bet they work just fine. We're talking about AK's for gods sake. AN AK works. Period. Maybe not 300 meter accuracy, but by god it will work when you pull the trigger.
No way would I fire an RPG that has that much corrosion on it, but the AKs should work fine.
Kharn |
Rinse them off with water, scrub them down with used motor oil and they'll be good as new.
I bet they would work just fine. If I needed one, it wouldn't bother me a bit to pick it up and use it.
I love the pistol (TT33?) in that large box.
I bet they have to do that so that someone doesn't just walk off with it. |

I have one that had the same amount of rust on it just from shooting it one day in the snow, and leaving it in a case for a month afterwards. It all cleaned off easily.
fuck yeah they will work. they have a cleaning rod on them so you know they got regular maintenance
they would work fine...man the salt air is not forgiving to anything bare!
They wouldn't carry them if they didn't work. They might not meet US Military standards for reliability but I'll bet they're deadly enough to commandeer a ship.
ETA: Which one of you forgot to take off their shoe for the pic? |
