Ole Julius Eriksen, left, is aided by a Norwegian Air force helicopter rescuer after his seaplane crashed as they tried to take off late Monday evening, June 30, 2003, in the midnight sun from the Lessjavri Lake in the very north of Norway. Their plane struck a rock and flipped over. Eriksen and and his 6 year old son managed to escape from the cockpit and were able to cling onto the pontoon of the aircraft which by then was floating upside down in the lake. The incident was observed and reported by people on the shore, and a rescue helicopter from the nearby Banak rescue station arrived overhead within minutes. Both father and son were unhurt and winched to safety. (AP Photo)

And your problem with a kid getting a prosthetic bone instead of a prosthetic leg is?

Really, this is a great story.  This little girl will grow up pretty much normally, with a biological leg, with biological muscle, nerves, etc. rather than a friggin piece of plastic, fiberglas, steel, etc. strapped on externally to a stump.

Not sure but I think Cleatus was making the comment re the "therapy trike" & not the leg itself.  It looks like a regular trike but if the medical industry calls it a "therapy trike" they can bilk Medi-Care/MedicAid for $$$$$$$$$$$$$$ (gotta pay for that Benz & CountryClub greens fees, don'tcha know).

The last time I checked, "professionals" don't get overtime.   I guess it's PC now to call secretaries or whatever "professionals" just like doctors, lawyers and engineers.

The only mirror you'll see Keith close to is one caked with white powder that's directly under his nose.

I believe it's arranged so that passing the bone through a magnetic hoop will extend springs inside. It's otherwise stiff - so that you can actually put pressure on the limb - but will expand if so coaxed under the right conditions. It requires regular attention as she grows but is way better than losing that leg.
