Your mising the two seater from TOS.. http://www.galactica.tv/battlestar-galactica-1978-news/galactica-1980-two-seated-colonial-viper-mock-up.html |

This was my favorite starfighter of all time, and if you don't agree, then you're an imbecile.:

This, is a Star Trek fighter: As seen on DS9.... It's also my pick... Only thing from another series that gives it a run for it's money, is the X-wing... Or if we go into 'game world', it's Star Wars counterpart - the assault gunboat... |

I voted Viper(and on a related note, Galactica jumping into atmosphere above the camp and launching Vipers is by far one of the BEST sci-fi battle scenes I have EVER seen), but the B5 Starfury kicks ass.

Klingon L-42 Bird of Prey is a scout class vessel, not a capital ship. You're correct in that it is not a single seat fighter, however. ETA: Looks like the numbnuts that made Star Trek: TNG retconned things so there are now three "Birds of Prey" that look exactly alike but with each more powerful than the last. Apparently the retarded writers had to come up with a reason ships over a century old were able to give the Enterprise D a run for its money, when the reason was the writers were lazy and thought the ship model from Star Trek III looked cool so they would just keep using it. Quoted: VF-1S Super Valkyrie with Max as the pilot. VF-1S never had Max as the pilot. It was Roy Focker (Roy Fokker in Robotech) and Hikaru Ichijyo (Rick Hunter in Robotech) after Roy dies and takes over Skull Squadron. Max flew a VF-1J. |
|
THe X wing has 4 cannons, shields, AND FTL (lightspeed) capability.
The A-wing only has 2 cannons, but faster sub-light speed, and better shields. I'd pick the X-wing, due to it's better offensive capability. Having FTL means if you see yourself losing, you can bug out in a HURRY. NONE of the other ships can match the Star Wars fighters. The ships in Space Above and Beyond were called 'Hammer Heads' due to the strange looking semi cannard in front of the cockpit. |

I really like the battlecruiser design in Homeworld 2 and the fact that it doubles as a carrier in a limited role. |
