I'm looking at the following 3 options for my next ccw. Currently don't own a pistol btw.
Smith M&P40 from AIM for $320. Pros: Have two spare mags already from the one I used to have that was stolen. Cheap enough to buy two, grip chop one, and have ccw and nightstand/comp gun covered. RMR mounting is proven. Cons: 40cal. I prefer 9mms. Easy swap I know. The AIM guns are probably a little beat up and have PD markings, which I would hate. CZ P07, $530ish Pros: Ergos are awesome, gun is very slim, decocker or cocked and locked. Cons: $40+ mags, and I'd almost certainly have to have a P09 threaded bbl model also (is that a con?) Sig P320 Compact $550ish with some luck. Pros: Again, awesome ergos, fantastic trigger as well. The whole gimmick of building whatever size and caliber you want on a single trigger group with one serial number. Cons: $40+ mags. The conversion kits are close to $400each now. Gen4 Glock19. $500ish Pros: arfcom approval, cheap mags. Cons: I can't stand them. This is the model I actually shoot pretty well and I still don't like it. Suggestions welcome as long as price, pros and cons are listed. Edit: I don't remember how to do polls.. |

are you wanting to use the same gun for CCW and uspsa?
picking a gun to do both, will be lackluster in both. I use a G34 for uspsa shield for ccw ETA: you also didnt mention what division in USPSA, im assuming you mean production |

And no, open class eventually, because I want an rmr. I do comps for more trigger time, not to beat the other guy. |

HK VP9
Pros...great trigger, fantastic ergos, the LE model needs nothing out of the box. Very accurate, very easy to shoot quickly and accurately. Smites targets with Teutonic fury. Cons...cost (but I will counter that in a moment), holsters are lacking...but they are coming along, 15 round mag vs 17 or 19, mags can be expensive, you know you suck and they hate you. As for the cost...by the time you buy a glock and out on adequate sights, do a trigger job, and make it the equivalent of a VP9, you will end up spending pretty much the same amount of money. I got my LE model for $625 with night sights and 3 mags...I have not looked back, and I was a glock guy. |

I've got a hard time believing it's got a better trigger than the Sig, and I like Sig as a company better. I'm roughly as interested in HK as I am in glock, which is to say not much. |

G34 MOS (what I have) and G43 for ccw then most people hate glocks because of the trigger, but its not hard to make a glock trigger feel just right. if you hate glocks THAT much, then M&P pro core for comp, and a shield for ccw. peronally I cant stand the pro core, a buddy has one and I just feel like i cant get my hand high enough on it ETA: what you might consider doing is popping the optic off and shooting production, then putting it back on for fun. This is the path I went. |

Why don't you like glock? They dominate the plastic scene in uspsa because you can get the best triggers out of them. Sure, a vp9 has a good stock trigger but a glock can have a 2.5lb trigger with zero pre travel and zero over travel with a drop in kit and 5 mins worth of work.

Cons for the glock and Smith are that I'd have to have trigger jobs done to both. I shoot comps with my self defense guns, so no crazy light triggers either. The CZs on SA are really nice just the way they come. |

No way you want to shoot a compact in USPSA.
So by default, buy two of the M&P 40. |

Easy swap I know. View Quote Won't be legal for USPSA Production if you swap it, and I would never trust a .40 carry gun with a 9mm conversion barrel. Best option is not available. A real CZ. Note that CZC currently has 75 Compacts available @ only $465. (For really running USPSA, though, as stated, a full size is best.) |

I carry a p07. You can make the trigger better with Cajun gunworks parts. I would probably get a p09 for uspsa though.

P320
M&P40 CZP07 Others to check out include: P226 Tanfoglio Witness |

Sold both. I like the size and feel of the manual safety on the 07/09,hated it on the metal guns. Didn't feel positive at all. Also the 09 while huge is still slim and light enough for ccw (I used to carry a fs m&p and even a G21sf occasionally) |

An M&P9C is a great carry gun so, I voted for that before I read your post.
After reading your post, you don't know what you want. Get a Glock 19. |

There's nothing unreliable about it. I'm not even using a "conversion" barrel. Just a straight 9mm one. |

USPSA = CZ75 Shadow or SP01 Shadow
CCW = CZ75 compact or P01 I just sold my Production division gussied up 34. Never looking back.... |

Get two different guns.
Glock 19 for carry Glock 34 or Shadow for USPSA |

I would go with an XD-M. I have a 5.25 comp as my USPSA gun and with the PRP trigger set, extended beavertail and extended mag release, it's a beauty of a pistol.
I'm thinking of selling my G19 and get an XD-M 4.5 in 9mm. |
