BALTIMORE —The 11 News I-Team has obtained photos of the knife that Freddie Gray was carrying on the day Baltimore City police arrested him. The knife was brought up repeatedly during the trials of the officers charged in Gray's death, but until Monday, a picture was never released. The 11 News I-Team obtained the photos of the knife through a Public Information Act request with the Baltimore City State's Attorney's Office. The knife is the documented reason why city police arrested Gray on April 12, 2015. Neither prosecutors nor the defense introduced it as evidence in the officers' trials. The knife blade is 3 inches long. According to a product description, it is called an assist knife and is sometimes known as a rescue-style assist knife. The knife's features include a seat-belt cutter and a glass breaker, and it comes with a clip. The 11 News I-Team contacted Baltimore City retailers and learned that it is sold in the city for as little as $4. |

Neither thread nor link revealed pic of knife to me. Using phone, so maybe on my end..

Black flea market folder with a plastic pimp blue pearl handle insert. The finest of $4 knives. Still plenty stabby.

"According to a product description, it is called an assist knife and is sometimes known as a rescue-style assist knife." See, he was just a Boy Scout, out looking for a good deed to do. |

What's ironic is that we have proof that he was afraid of seat belts...

That knife shouldn't be illegal to own anywhere in this country. Good guy, bad guy or anywhere in between, it's a bullshit law and a bullshit excuse for arresting someone. I bet they wish they had just let him go when they realized that the knife was all they could get him for.
But, they wanted more government, I hope they liked their more government as much as the government liked the rioting. |

Many many thanks for posting this.
I have been waiting and wondering exactly what the knife was since the incident happened. |

Pinball Freddy's Last Blade
Someone needs to add it to Fallout |

POS knife. Would it kill a person any less the a $400 knife ? I'm not seeing your point. No point to be made. Just a statement of fact in case anyone was curious if it was a quality blade or not. I know some users don't like to click links. |

It's bullshit that a little knife like that is what prompted police to chase him.
Yeah it's a piece of shit, but it is still a 3 inch blade that should not be illegal to possess, carry, or use anywhere. It's no different in my mind than otherwise law-abiding citizens getting busted under the SAFE act in New York for possession of a handgun |
|
Are AR-15's with the shoulder thing that goes up illegal in New York? It's a bull-shit law. Are you going to defend every little encroachment on our liberties because someone decided they became illegal? |
|
MD law defines a switchblade as using a button to activate the blade. Baltimore city code defines a switchblade as any knife that incorporates a spring. Thus why Mosby kept repeating "under state law" when discussing the knife. Kharn |

I like how it Sars stainless steel and China on one side.
Can't make out the writing on the other side. |

It had a "clip". That makes is an assault knife in Maryland.

"...sold in the city for as little as $4"
Pussy motherfuckers will be calling for knife bans much louder now. |
|

What is also ironic is that the knife has a "thin blue line" in the middle of it!!!

Cheap copy of the one they sell in the cop shops here.
Has no bearing on the fact that he fought the police & then smashed his own head into the side of the van (just like the other prisoner in the van said he did). Taxpayers got fucked when the city paid the family off before a lawsuit was even filed... |

Case of citizenry being unhappy after receiving the extra government they wanted. I'm willing to bet whoever championed the. I'll making that knife illegal had a (D) beside their name. |
