(12/18/03 - SAN DIEGO) — Some homeowners trying to rid their home of roaches rid themselves of a home.

They basically did away with the house altogether. The San Diego residents sparked an explosion when they set-off 19 roach bombs in their 700-square foot home.

The explosion was so strong it sent one of their walls into the neighbor's house. A pregnant woman who lives there was put in the hospital, but only as a precaution.

Firefighters say all this could have been avoided if the tenants had just read the directions and the warnings on the box -- usually marked in red letters.

In the end, they destroyed their house but didn't kill all the roaches.

SOP around here - have you ever seen the size of some of the roaches we get here? Firefighters report afterwards that the only thing that survived the blasts were roaches who were crawling over the wreckage.

I was listening to that on the radio the other day during the drive to work. The explosion sent Christmas decorations and shards of broken glass out into the street. The ceilings and walls were full of holes and plaster was strewn about. The estimated damage was $150,000.

A cockroach can live like 20 days without a head. And then it only dies of thirst! Cockroaches are not meant to die.

in san diego???
perhaps they couldn't read englich???

we had some here that tried to clean their pipe clog with compressed PROPANE!!!!

dad and 3 offspring in the hospital....
too bad they can continue to breed.

I wonder how much that cost with property damage and hospital bills???

Thats why I always use 50bmg to take out roaches unless they are in a group then I use napalm, large groups are to tac-nuked.
