I'm not sure she's not (partially) correct. I don't think the Rs should have come out and said they wouldn't even entertain a nomination in the immediate aftermath of Justice Scalia's passing. They should have shut up, let President Obama nominate someone, then carefully considered the nominee for about 11 months.
Obama would have thus nominated someone so beyond the pale liberal that shelving him or her would have been easier. Not he'll nominate someone who has the appearance of a moderate so that any "reasonable" (say that in his voice for full effect) Senator will HAVE to consider the nominee. |

I believe that Congress has a duty to act upon a nomination.
But then we have to define "act" just like we needed to define "is" and "sex" during Slick Willie's days. To do nothing is an act. If nothing else, it is an act of defiance. In this case Congress, in the person of the Senate Majority Leader, has acted. He has said that any nominee put forth will not get a hearing.
