Brilliant move. It is always very helpful to the prosecution when the victim of a crime will have to admit on the stand that a conviction will go a long way toward earning him a million bucks.

At first I didn't understand what you meant.  



But I should think that filing a suit is standard practice, although most wait until AFTER the conviction to file.  Of course, the victim may not even have to testify considering the video evidence against the bouncer.
