Parents wake up to find strange man holding their toddler
The cries of a young child woke her parents early Thursday morning -- but they never could have guessed what was making her wail.
Police came to their Tempe, Arizona, home at about 2:30 a.m. after a woman told the 911 dispatcher that her husband was fighting with a burglar, WJW reports. According to Tempe Police Department spokeswoman Sgt. Josie Montenegro, the woman woke up when she heard her 2 year old whimpering. She noticed her daughter's bedroom door was closed, which was unusual. When the father checked the living room, he saw a stranger was holding his baby. He immediately started fighting the man, who police have identified as Oren Cohen, 34. Montenegro told WJW that officers arrested the man on suspicion of burglary and aggravated assault, and he noted that police are still investigating his intent. View Quote Sounds like the father showed remarkable restraint leaving that guy in a shape that he could be arrested instead of hauled off in a coroner's van. |

would have shot him and fucked the wound before the police got there.

I'd put a stop to that asap but I sure as hell wouldn't be fighting the guy.

Good for dad! Good beating. Should have deaded the guy though.

The article about this on huffpo says the dude had his pants down
Came across it when I googled the dudes name. |

No excuse for not killing him before calling law enforcement.
They are law enforcement, not tattle-tale enforcement. Once the intruder is in my home, it's my lair and bailiwick. Law can clean up the mess. |

I probably wouldn't shoot at the guy holding my 2 year old. http://www.videovista.net/articles/t10shot08.jpg View Quote Surely the 2 yr old was not in the perps arms while Dad was fighting him. Seems that would also risk the kid getting hit or drop on its head. |

Even if home CCTV recorded the husband putting the burglar on his knees and pulling the trigger, i bet getting a jury conviction would be damn near impossible in these circumstances.

Confused on why he was fighting him instead of shooting him! View Quote Guess you'd be surprised how many people don't have a gun at home. Waking in the middle of the night to a whimpering or crying two year old, I never charged in with a weapon in my hands, and I doubt many do....., well I take that back, most here would probably go in with full tac gear. Anyway, probably heard the child crying, saw a man holding him, and went hands on right away rather than turning to run and get a weapon allowing the intruder to run away with the child, or kill the child before the father could reach a weapon if he even had one. Beside, would you start shooting someone holding your 2 year old child in the middle of the night in your living room? I wouldn't. Good on dad. |

Good on dad for the beating. But he should've just kept beating until he stopped breathing.

I wouldn't have shot the guy holding my kid, but I doubt he would've survived the encounter.

From googling the perp's name he seems to have been a drunk Israeli who wandered into the wrong house. He should be thankful to be alive.

Man who allegedly broke into Tempe apartment thought 2-year-old was ‘midget'
TEMPE, Ariz. - The man Tempe police arrested for second-degree burglary, aggravated assault and kidnapping on Thursday told authorities he was “blackout drunk” during the incident. During an interview with officers after his arrest, Cohen said he remembered being in a dark room and “seeing a midget,” according to court paperwork. When he was told the “midget” was a child, court records state he broke down crying. The suspect told police he was certain he didn’t perform or engage in any sexual acts with the child. The father said his child was still wearing her diaper and pajamas when they found her. According to court records, the father did tell police that Cohen's pants were pulled down slightly and his buttocks were showing when the father found Cohen holding the child on his lap. During a forensic interview, the 2-year-old told police that the suspect gave her an "ouchie" while pointing to her bottom, the court paperwork said. Police responding to the scene found Cohen’s shoes in the girl’s bedroom, his coat wedged beside her mattress, and his passport on the floor by the foot of the bed. Court paperwork said it appeared he used the restroom and drank orange juice from the fridge. Investigators say Cohen is legally visiting the U.S. from Israel and wants to return home as a result of this incident. Cohen told officers that he had been visiting with a friend in the same complex that night. He was arrested after being tased by officers when they say he tried to run away. Police booked him into the Tempe City Jail, then he was transported to the 4th Avenue Jail to stand before a judge. View Quote |

How fucking big are your two year olds? If you're going hand to hand with the guy the dude isn't holding the kid anymore anyway. View Quote View All Quotes View All Quotes Quoted:

Are you saying you would have sat the gentleman down for some late night hot cocoa while he explained the misunderstanding? Yeah, that's a logical conclusion to draw from what I said. What I meant was that the thread would turn into a retarded argument between those who would have shot the guy and those who would insist it was an impossible and dangerous shot to attempt. |

I would paint the drapes with the burglars brains (accounting for sight offset).

There would be a smashed bag of meat on the floor in my house that would somewhat resemble a human... I would be found on the edge of dehydration from delivering the beat down of the ages.
Want to see a 200 lb man delivery 400lbs of whoop-ass. Mess with his 2 yr old daughter! |
