Hey,

Just got back with the kiddos.

Frozen is pretty good, songs are catchy, I liked it better than Tangled.

The opening Disney short "Get a Horse" was pretty sweet as well.

That's hard to believe from the previews. Mine are 5 and (almost) 7.

The trailers do nothing for the film, we totally didn't want to see it.

A couple Disney superfans saw it and said it was good, so we gave it a shot.

It's good, don't let the gay/stupid trailers discourage you.

ETA: My kids are 4 and 7, both sat still and watched.

The "it's like a little baby unicorn nose" from the snowman gets me every time.

Here's probably the best song:

It's Idina Menzel who played Elphaba in Wicked.

She's got some pipes.

If it is better than tangled I am impressed. I will add it to the list

We took our kids to it on Black Friday. It was my son's first time in a movie theater. Since having kids, we've become quite the conniseurs of "kids movies". "Frozen" is a fantastic movie. Apparently, this was one of Disney's big animation coups because they didn't work with Pixar.

The trailer for "Maleficent" looks pretty kick ass too. My son (4 y.o.) had his mind BLOWN by that trailer (he really likes the old Disney movies, and "Sleeping Beauty" is one of his favorites).

I tell ya', although I may sound like an old fart, I think alot of the animated kids/family movies being put out are some of the best things Hollywood is doing.

Yeah, we saw it opening weekend. It was pretty good I thought.

EDIT: To answer a couple of the questions above. No, I didn't pick up any "indoctrination" or agenda pushing. Just a good kid movie with some catchy songs that my little one sings all the time now.

Took my 5 year old to see it when it released. Best Disney animated movie in a really long time, and yes, it is better Han tangled

Much better than Tangled. The Snowman's song was pretty funny.

Took my 4 yr old girl to see it the other night. The movie theater is a very old one so the sound system is terrible and couldn't make out what exactly what they were singing.
The plot is geared more for adolescent girls.
She couldn't sit still and was quite bored with it all
ETA- The little snowman was about the only thing that kept her interested.

Yeah, except for the tiny detail that the two stories have absolutely nothing at all to do with each other ... other than the fact that a reindeer appears in both stories

Umm, as far as I know, I've never seen any reference to The Snow Queen from Disney.

The local Target had an entire toy aisle full of Frozen crap about two months back.... It's still there and still selling.
That toy aisle was how I learned about the movie in the first place.

I find that hard to believe. I bought Tangled for a Niece and watched it with her and laughed my ass off at the music, especially the bar scene one "I have a dream."

Frozen HAS to be better then the previews, I was totally unimpressed with it watching them.

Same here. It was good because they didn't do that sort of thing with Tangled and Brave. We didn't see any really cool toys come out for Tangled until the DVD was released. At least this time we were able to get my daughter some stuff for Christmas.

I went with my kids 2 and 4, and they both didnt blink through the whole movie. Was a good one.

My girls are four and six.

We all enjoyed it, music was good. When the Ice queen finished the number she does while building the ice castle my youngest applauded.

It's a musical, moreso even than Tangled.

I liked it a lot better than Brave, which surprised me, based on the previews of both movies I'd have been certain it would have been the other way around.

It's about 5 lines into the credits at the end.

I find it funny that we are discussing the virtues of Disney movies on Arfcom.

Anyway I didn't think it was close to Tangled. The songs were not as good and the whole art direction of the movie I didn't like as much. I put it behind Tangled and Wreck It Ralph.

It felt to me like their B team cranked this movie out.

It's just a shame that they pretty much threw away 99% of the original story in this movie.

My wife's a big fan of the Snow Queen. I'd never heard of it until I met her. She gets a good laugh at all the Disney versions of his stories that end happily, and when I read them as written, I think no wonder Europeans are so depressed and fighting, lol.

Frozen is a great movie in its own right, and I really like Disney's stories versus a lot of the other crap Hollywood puts out. They are, right now, the king of storytelling.
