Bought a large sogzilla Monday at the Amigos oilfield supply store in CC, just got around to using it, managed to acquire a future scar. At wife's mothers house for thanksgiving (important because wife inherited knack for dulling cutlery from somewhere) and decided to use my new knife instead of a kitchen knife
Was slicing a piece of cheese (dubliner) for a snack, wife asked me to pass something to her, I shifted knife into left hand with cheese. Bad move. While holding the cheese with my ring and pinkie fingers, I tried holding knife with thumb, index, and middle fingers. Somewhere in the middle, the knife edge touched my knuckle. Not enough for stitches but I'll remember it for a while. Flayed the skin off the back of my ring finger. Not into muscle, but dime sized patch of missing skin. Blood everywhere. Note to self: buy a cheese slicer for mother in law. |

Sog stuff seems to come out of the box pretty sharp.
I've got a nice knuckle scar from a Visionary 2. |

My SOG Flash II cut me as I was taking it out of the package.

I just got the bleeding stopped I'm not moving that band aide. I think one of the meds I'm on must have a side effect of thinning the blood. You would of thought I killed a hog or something from the splatter.

View Quote Slightly worse than that but close. I opted for a knuckle bandage since it's more teir 1 tacticool, but Dora the Explorer was available as an option. I didn't even cry when the wife poured peroxide in to the cut. (Well maybe a little). |

If you do not use the cool army seal terminology, I cant understand you. Knuckle bandages are acceptable on badasses. You pass this station, collect your EFMB at the door and carry on. |

NewGraham includes a band-aid pack when you buy a knife from them; logoed with "You're gonna need it!"

This tread is worthless without picks. Not from a sog but it did require surgery to reconnect nerves and tendons. http://i1205.photobucket.com/albums/bb435/DamascusKnifemaker/stitches_zpsb61bde04.jpg View Quote I hurt just thinking about that. Something tells me that involved a trip to vicodenland |

Reminds me I need to send my Flash II in for a new blade. I used it so much I wore out the blade sharpening it.
|

I thought it would require pain killers but the key was severed nerves. The doc stitched me without giving me anything. Five days later the hand surgeon opened it up and made repairs. 10k fuck up on my part.

Cut my finger open pretty good on a new Kershaw Leek. Those bastards are very sharp out of the box.

My brother gave a friend a new pocket knife for his birthday one year, we watched dumbfounded as this guy runs his thumb down the blade and cuts the shit out of himself . rarely have I ever seen someone do something so stupid.

Wait till you play with a balisong and accidentally flip while holding the bite handle.

This is my second SOG. The first I was given after I purchased $15000 of valves a couple years ago at Christmastime. Stainless handle sogzilla in the large size. I fell in love with it. My Dad decided it should be his when I was visiting and I didn't argue. Last week I was in buying some fittings and they had the poly handled versions, asked about a discount since I just bought a couple grand of fittings and hoses. They came down to less than academy wanted for the small one so I jumped on it. SOG knows how to make them sharp. The edge seemed to hold up ok on the one I let dad have. I'm hoping the cheaper one is the same quality.

I was using my brand new Kershaw the other day, cut one finger and startled me so I cut a second finger much worse than the first.

I've never had a knife that sharp. My Kershaw Chill was sharp enough to shave big patches of hair off my arm when I first got it, but not quite "draw blood at the slightest touch" sharp. It has never been that sharp since, I suck at sharpening .

Blades get named after the first animal or person they draw blood from. I got a couple named Wasz, one named Dad, and I think one named Uncle Mark.

My bro-n-law slices himself EVERY time he touches a blade.
His mother still cuts his turkey for him at Thanksgiving dinner. He is 49 yrs old. Last year I gave his son a Swiss Army knife for X-mas. Kid played with the knife all day. No issues. Dad just HAD to fingerbang the Swiss Army. Yep. Sliced the crap out of himself. ER trip on X-mas day. |

this thread reminds me that I need a new Benchmade auto.
I'm off to Knifecenter and BladeHQ. |

With how many of you fucks cut yourselves and think it's cool, or the "blade's right" I don't understand why there aren't more threads like, "Shot myself with my new g19 this morning...silly gun"
Not that I don't understand the "it's not your knife till it takes blood" thing. 'Cause I do. I don't know why, and it's weird, but I do. |

Same here for stupid! Sorry,
Sharpening a Kershaw kitchen knife 10 days ago, and found how sharp it still was. 11 stitches to close the cut. Pretty much cut the finger in half, middle finger also, show up at ER, and flip them off, LOVE IT!! Just took the outside stitches out today. |
