I have two different files that I want to use in one picture. I have one jpeg and I want to lay a .gif image over one part of the .jpeg file. How do I do this?

open the gif image and select the area you want to put over the JPEG.

Copy it, then open the JPEG file.

Create a new layer

paste the copied GIF selection into the new layer you created in the JPEG file.

There ya go!
