Washington, (AP)  The animal rights orginization known as PETA (People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals) is outraged at a photo showing John Kerry standing over a dead animal he had killed while hunting.  In the photo, Kerry is crouched over the animal and is holding a handgun.  The president of PETA was quoted as saying "This is horrible!  Animals need to be loved!  I loved snorky, snorky was a dolphin.  The police said I loved snorky a little too much and they put me in jail for awhile!".  

When asked about the photo, John Kerry said "The hunt was exhilarating, I was crawling around on my belly with my trusty HK USP, trying to outsmart the dog, I felt like a police officer" he continued "Some people say dog meat is too tough and stringy, but if you prepare it right and use the right marinade, it could be very tasty, you know for like eating at a picnic"  

Many say this is just another ploy to get hunters to vote for John Kerry.  Local dog hunter and police officer Jack Murrad said "Real dog hunters dont use handguns, they use .50 BMG rifles! Everyone knows that!".  But Kerry says "I have been dog hunting all my life, I know exactly how to hunt dogs."

A former Kerry supporter had this to say. "I was going to like, vote for kerry because he was like cool and everything.  But then he killed a poor dog and I was like ohmigod! He killed that dog!  Hunting is baaad and guns are baaad so im gunna vote for Nader because I hate everyone"

I think Kerry's hunting side needs to be attacked more.  It has been his way of pretending to be pro gun rights but, of course we know better.  If it looked to the Kerry camp as if it was costing animal-rights votes, they might cut back on the posing.  Then,  his true positions on gun control might filter through even the hunters' rose-colored glasses.
