Vermont's top federal prosecutor says a U.S. agent who had his home raided by another federal agency last week has been taken off criminal investigations.

U.S. Attorney Tristram Coffin won't say why Special Agent Richard Bernholz of Immigration and Customs Enforcement was taken off investigations or why his home was searched Aug. 3 by agents from the Federal Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives.

At the time Bernholz's home was being searched, the St. Johnsbury home of Phil Ciotti, an investigator for the Medical Practice Board and a former police officer, was also being searched. Hundreds of firearms were seized from Ciotti's home.

The Govt agent was investigated and a simultaneous search was performed on an investigator for the Medical Practice Board and a former police officer. There must be some connection between them.

Being what it is, Vermont has the best 2nd A gun laws in the country - right up there with Alaska. There must be some underhanded shit to have the heat come down on them like this.

You mean it wasn't an arsenal or DEADLY firearms or "hundreds of firearms including assault weapons"?

or maybe it was because it was VT and the reporters there haven't succumbed to the common journalist douchebaggery?
