And I don't at all want this to be locked or have "kill 'em all" comments posted.

It hit me today why this hurts so bad, on such a basic level. We all react to the horror of such acts. We all feel righteous anger at innocent people being killed. But here's the real, deeper reason we are so angered:

It castrates us as a nation. We watch this, and I'm quite sure that people over there on the point of the sword in the armed services are just as pissed as we are about seeing these things. And the terrorists are basically thumbing their noses at us, "we can do this and you haven't been able to do anything about it yet" (emphasis on YET-- I fully believe they will "get theirs" in due time). The troops over there and in Afghanistan are doing a great job, but in the world view (and here at home) it looks like it's all for naught because we haven't caught the bad guys yet.

It irritates me as well. I do firmly believe these terrorists will be caught and brought to justice one way or the other.

Sorry to dredge it up again. I just thought it was cathartic to write.

It really is a sign of their impotence. We are over there with tanks, copters, and troops that are ready to fight. So these "brave soldiers of Allah" take on the American troops and end up dead.

The best they can do is find unarmed innocents who aren't even warriors, and cut their throats on video tape while wearing masks to hide their brave selves.

They are cowards of the first order. Even suicide bombers are braver than these guys.

Suck it up, folks, it will likely get worse before it gets better over there.

Much, much worse, since these acts will continue at an even faster pace when the Iraqi Elections are drawing close!

Have to agree with this and add that we need to be able find their nest's and soak with a large dose of bug spray. Interpret that as you like.

So, when will they behead some children?
They've killed plenty kids, and beheaded many adults...

...when will it all culminate into ultimate perfect act.

I completely agree. I wish our military was allowed, designed and operated in a MUCH less PC way. I know we have the will and skill....they just need the green light to talk the only language these assholes understand. It's being done as well as any armed forces could under the circumstances, even better...but I believe we need the "throat-cutters" of our own let loose. Not because that's how Iraq will ultimately be won, but simply because that's what some of those people have coming due....for NO other reason than to send that message. We don't forget, were NOT affraid and we will hunt you down and slaughter you. That simple.

John_Wayne777, Eric, you're both right. It's just another example of them using the media to their advantage.

I know you both know this, but that's all the terrorists have, is the media. And the media allows itself to be played like a fiddle... We cannot allow ourselves to be cowed by these actions... but the more weak-willed among us (who blame Bush for this!) will associate the beheadings with us not being able to do anything about it, and that's what the majority of people are thinking right now IMHO.

There are two possible reactions to acts like this:

1. Become afraid and run away. We have done this for 30 years, and the terrorist threat has only grown.
2. Get mad, and go kick their heads in. Make those who worship violence on this earth and who approve of such horrors EXTINCT.

That works pretty good.

When people talk about negotiating with terrorists, this video should be played. When people talk about understanding their plight, this video should be played. You cannot negotiate with this type of person.

That realization is why the blood runs cold. You know that all you can do is run or fight. If you run, they will catch you. But if you fight, then you can defeat them.

Very well said.

It sickens me but it also reinforces what our forefathers must have thought when they were facing the "Do or die!" time in the revolution. Everyone of these great men sacrificed their fortunes and some even their lives.

We, as a Nation, can give up, try to be neutral (& hope it works out), or we can 'nut up' and do what [iwill have to be done.

I would not be surprised to find out the US is conducting clandetine operations against these barbaric pieces of shit much like the Israeli Mossad does against their enemies. Not all the US civilian security contractors over there are security contractors.

Another thing. All these companies sending construction specialists over there to help rebuild the country should be arming their employees. I for one would not go over there with anythng less than a .45 automatic in a shoulder harness.

I say it's time to seal off Fallujah and do a block-by-block, building-by-building sweep.

The only thing that they respond to is when we hurt them worse than they hurt us.
