Good stuff, expensive.  I usually only get it when the drug reps are buying.

Good stuff, but real expensive.  A local butcher shop would probably be better.

They are very good.  If you can, try and take advantage of their specials to get better pricing.

Some think they are too expensive, but they are better than most supermarkets and far cheaper than going out to dinner (which of late seems to be a crapshoot on quality/cooked to order).

We always have soething from them on hand.

No, I mean the mail-order catalog.

Thats what I am talking about.  What will happen is they will set up a booth somewhere you sit there and listen to their pitch.  Then they give a gift cert for $100 to Omaha steaks.  Then I get a catalog and order.  Thats it in a nutshell.

i gave it as gifts 4 years ago, beware of them selling your telephone #, home address and email to all kind of freaking companies. I was so pissed, I got calls and so much junk mail. I threatened to sue them in a letter I wrote, then it finally stopped.

but there chicken, chops and steaks are awesome.

Terrible.

I can buy a side of locally raised black angus beef for about 1/2 the per pound cost of Omaha Steaks. The meat locker will butcher it to my spec.

Over priced.  Buying mail order steaks is like trying to pick up chicks at work.  Lack of ambition.

Depends on what you get.  The cheaper cuts are kind of nasty.  The good cuts are expensive, and you also have to pay shipping for a cooler and dry ice.  It may be a nicer option to pack your own cooler, and make the drive to the butcher on a weekend.

The hamburger seem to have more fat than I like.  you can get ground round in walmart thats just as good or better.

Yeah, yeah....I know they are no Lobel's.

But my inlaws had some of their burgers and they were excellent!

They make better gifts than anything else.   You should be able to find a high end butcher in your area that will meat for about the same price but never frozen.

The Bacon wrapped filets are excellent.  Easily as good as the local butcher shop and a Godsend when I was living in places where there was no local butcher.

Is it frozen?  I don't understand buying high-end, frozen, pre-ground meat.  Frozen ground meat never tastes as good as fresh-ground to me, and the texture isn't the same.  If I want frozen burgers, I'll stick with cheap and dependable Bubba Burgers.

Good steaks but their burgers are too lean for me...they need more fat for taste.

For the money you can do as good or better.  IMHO.

+1.  Living in the midwest is great!!  I have about seven really, really good meat shops in my area.  They all turn out great stuff, including sausage and cheese too (this IS Wisconsin!!).

They are the only ones I like. Otherwise, our local butchershop has good regular steaks or ground top sirloin.

They are good, but if you buy from them they will start calling you all the time wanting you to buy more.
