Very nice...no Creeping Death though? My bad, it's early. No problemo. I like that you posted Harvester. People seem to forget that gem... |

Anything past Justice isn't Metallica. That is all. Fuck Bob Rock. |

I can't figure out the obsession with this group. They are ok and maybe its just because any of the radio stations here worth a damn play their songs every other song and I'm sick of hearing them.
They are also at the front of the RIAA line crying about how they aren't making a bunch of money bcuase of music sharing. |

I don't get the frenzy with this-the copyright notice was on the labels of every CD that was posted on the internet. The people who started file sharing sites should have known they were involved in illegal activity from the start. |

I love old metallica, but I will admit that I actually liked their lastest album, I didn't think I would but I did. They went back to doing 8 minute songs

Even my vinyl copy of Death Magnetic is normalized and compressed all to hell (it actually clips in some places). |

The first near car accident I was ever in happened because my high school buddy was too busy banging his head listening to "Creeping Death". We spun across a lane of traffic and onto the gravel shoulder. No harm was done, but it scared the shit out of both of us. We still laugh about it to this day.

I use to have that same shirt Jason has on in that Enter Sandman video. It had the front of one of the regular shirts but you can see it has a different back. It says something like "Rehearsing with Metallica, Petaluma, CA...". It was a shirt they sold at a concert they put on in Petaluma, before that album was released, at an old gutted theater two nights in a row w/ only a couple hundred tickets a night. I have no idea where the shirt went and have not seen it in years |

Dude did a really good job and looked like he had the time of his life. IIRC that was a small venue MTV put on where the viewers could call in and vote on what songs they wanted Metallica to play? Right? Around 98 or so... James states that he forgot the words, so the guy offers to take over. Way cool. |

Sorry, but some of the songs posted in this thread are NOT "Old Metallica". Anything post Justice is "New Metallica"
|

I saw all those songs LIVE last weekend except for Harvester. THE BIG 4 ROCK! Metallica was amazing!!!!!!!! ONE was the shit!
On their website you can buy the whole set on MP3.10$ Well worth it. |

Lars is going to rape all of your guys bank accounts for watching these videos without paying him directly. I lost all respect for them after that BS and every album after that has been complete shit too. Rumor they are working on something new now.

I"m gonna have to disagree, it was the Black album that was the turning point for me but they did start to deviate then.

What about Green Hell/Last Caress? Not the one from the re-re-re-revisited garage days, but the original 5.98 Garage Days Re-revisited??? Green Hell / Last Caress |
|
I was never a rapid Metallica fan. After watching "Some Kind Of Monster" I liked them even less.
Lars is a first class asshole. Someone needs to kick him squarely in the nuts every day for a week. This assumes he has any balls. The early stuff before the Black album is very good. Just not to my liking. I'm more of a Megadeth and Motorhead kinda guy |

Quoted: Anything past Justice isn't Metallica. That is all. Fuck Bob Rock. True. Last Metallica thread we had, some asshat said if we didn't like new Metallica and that god aweful Death Magnetic album it is because we DONT want to. Really? I don't want to like them because everything after Justice is just pop music/ top 40 crap. |
|
Battery is one of the songs that gives me an emotional/memory jolt whenever I hear it. Good stuff.

Quoted: That was me and it's still true. Death Magnetic is a return to AFJA roots for Metallica. Production isn't the best but it's still a great album.Quoted: Anything past Justice isn't Metallica. It's because you don't want to. You're living too much in the past. |

Thanks for posting those! I dont worry about old or new Metallica because I like just about every album they have made. |

WINNING!
Thats what I'm talking about, time to go punch holes in the wall and get drunk, FUCKING METAL Fav band ever |
|
Metallica (The Cliff Burton years) was the best Metallica. It went downhill from The Black Album on, though I love many of the songs from The Black Album. But LOAD and RELoad was a joke, not the Metallica I came to love in the 80s and 90s.
Just Give me "One" and "Four Horsemen" |
