I've been wanting to take a trip to where you are right now for quite a while. Go eat somewhere where they have a crab boil. MMMM! Crawfish!

Get a cab, tell him to take you to Snug Harbor (nearby).  Great food, reasonable prices, and top notch live music.

I'm looking at the different restraunts.  It's amazing how many there is.  I'm having a really hard time picking where to go.  We've only got a few days as we're in town for the Cowboys Saints game.

Go to the D-Day Museum, you're not far from it, catch the trolley. It's the best reason to go to Nawlin's Seriously, DO NOT miss it.

Rough triangulation suggests NO would be a great place for an unofficial ArfCom meetup. What do you think?

Yeah NO would be a good place.  It's actually not that far away either.  It's about a 9 hr drive from Tampa.  So far I'd say it's worth the trip up!

There are several cool bars over near Snug Harbor on Frenchman St. IIRC. Lots of good places to eat. Just remember to call in a reservation or plan on waiting if it is a nice restaurant. Stay in a group and don't wander. If a kid comes up to you and says he can tell you where you got them shoes, keep walking.. its a scam. He also wants to tell you how many kids your daddy had...remember keep walking. The places rkbar15 recommended are all good but pricey. Don't forget to take a buggy ride, eat some beignets at Cafe Du Monde, and check out the free entertainment (performance artists, artists, fortune tellers, and freaks in general) around Jackson Square. The dollar ballets are all on Bourbon. Ricks, Hustler Club, Gold Club are the nice ones. Lots of lesser quality clubs. Be prepared for some sights.

Multiple Dr. Peppers at the Gold Mine on St. Peters. Make sure you check out the French Market, House of Blues, Aquarium of the Americas, the RiverWalk, and the buffet at Harrahs'. Mothers makes an excellent po-boy. Try a half-a Muffelatta at Central Market. Coffee and begnets at Cafe du Monde.

*sigh* I miss N.O.
