Howdy folks. I see an awful lot of new "faces" on the new AR15.com forums. As a long time member of the old format, (over 4000 posts) I just thought it would be nice to have all the folks from the great state of Texas stand up and let us know where you're from.
CMOS - Houston. [;)] |
|
Same name on the old board, met you at the gun show earlier last year.
CZH Sugar Land, TX |

Good idea CMOS. DanM here, from Austin - which
some say ain't part of Texas - but what can I do? DanM (on old and new boards) |
|
Keepin watch on the North river as best I can. They are overunning us one too![:D]

Got to love it here in TEXAS!!! DavidT / DTHOR |

Hey CMOS.
I'm WERD, formerly DREW on the old board, and I think I had almost as many posts as CMOS, over 3,900 for sure, but WTF? Born in Houston, lived in Austin for going on 15 years. Get my e-mail in Amsterdam, Holland () on a private server because they can and will tell Uncle Sam to f*ck off if some spook comes looking to dig thru my or anyone elses e-mail. Kinda overkill security I know, but I hate spooks, and I CAN do it. Ha! Texas rules folks. If you ain't here, you don't know. |
|
Same name on the old board. Austin. I'm originally from Missouri, spent 4, 4 year enlistments in the Corps before calling it quits. Took a look around the country and came to the conclusion that the best place for a true son of Liberty was the great Nation of Texas. Since I've only been here since Nov '99 I don't know if I am considerd to be a "full" or "junior" Texan. I'm sure y'all will let me know! But I am DAMN happy to be here!!!

Good to see all these Texans, but Iknow there's got to be more.
Haven't seen Bulldog check-in but he's probebly not sobe...,er, up yet. Werd - I hope you're going to behave on these new forums. Many a times you were "a beddy beddy bad man..." I'd like to suggest that those of you in the same city make a contact list in order to combine some RKBA efforts. If any of you think we can relax with Bush in office, I have news. We've simply been given a halftime. Hope to see all of the Texans at the Texas Black Rifle Shoot IV. It has become not only a shooting even but quite the social spot to boot. Okay Texans, who's next to check in! CMOS |

(But I grew up in Chillicothe, Texas, in the Panhandle) |

Doctorfireant, unfortunately I'm stuck in Memphis, TN right now, but I grew up in Timber Lakes Timber Ridge, and my wife is from Vicksburg. Technically both of those are outside The Woodlands, but we went to McCullough High School and as soon as my second enlistment expires I'll be returning to that area.

Dangerousdan reporting in.
Presently in Baytown. I don't know yet if I will make it to this TBRS. Still debating if I want to drive all the way to the DFW area. Stephenville was an all day trip at well over 70 mph. |

Coastie,
When did you graduate from McC? My wife taught there starting in 1991 with Math, now teaches Physics at TWHS. When your in town, maybe we can convince CMOS and some of the others to go shooting at the public range in the National Forest. |

drfireant,
"maybe we can convince CMOS and some of the others to go shooting at the public range in the National Forest." You know me well enough to know I don't **need** any type of convincing. Heck, just say where and when, and I'll be there. [:)] CMOS |

Every once in a while I hear the term "Texican" (I guess mostly in old movies).
Is this a legimitate term? Is it just old? Is it offensive? Or is it like pronouncing Missouri "missourah" - technically correct, but no one does it anymore? Just curious, y'all. |
|
On the plains of West Texas.
It's a rural area, and I spook easily, so I ain't tellin' ya exactly where. DK Prof: Don't know the origin of Texican, but not offensive to me. Think it came from when Texas was part of Mexico. BTW, DK Prof, were you on the Mike Reagan show a couple of weeks ago? |
|
CMOS,
Sorry if I downplayed your 24/7/365 enthusiasm for anything having to do with firearms. It must have been a brain fart! My trigger finger is getting awful itchy!!! |
