Squirrel rifle from hell, http://home.bak.rr.com/varmintcong/jpar.html And a video of what is totally average for this rifle with some fairly simple handloads, a couple 10 shot groups at 100 yards. http://home.bak.rr.com/varmintcong/GROUP.wmv Video may not work for all though, compression codecs seem to be hit and miss with some people having them and others not.

Most Prized? BAH. How am I supposed to pick one child as a favorite over the others? With no favoritism, I'll just post a quick picture of the one I've spent the most time with this week. I wouldn't want the other rifles to be jealous, so I'll say it again. I don't have a favorite. [:)]

How is the compensator attached to the rifle? I have seen many are welded on, but Im kinda hesitant to put that much heat on the muzzle of my 1/8" MOA rifle =(

DevilsAdvocate, head here, www.jpar15.com I'm told they use a non-standard thread(one for which no flash suppressor is made) on the barrels and the muzzle brake is screwed on, they just do a very fine job of facing the barrel and muzzle brake then matching the diameters. Looks like it's welded to the barrel but it isn't. When the barrels are polished it's hard to tell where the muzzle brake begins and where the barrel ends. They can permanently mount them, don't know if it's just RedLocktite or if it's silversoldered.

Actually this was with a SP1 upper and .22LR conversion unit. I also have a J&T 16" with vortex FH upper for it. To be honest I prefer the SP1 upper, it's much lighter. Sgtar15

Okay....I don't understand this statement about the Stac Straps. How do you use them for camouflaging? Do you just stick leaves/branches under the straps or what? I have never heard of such a thing. SGtar15

M4_Aiming_at_U, yeah it's a cast lower receiver but it's a stainless steel cast lower receiver :) I wanted the extra weight and strength knowing that I was going to have a heavy 24 inch barrel hanging off of it. About a 15 pound rifle unloaded, between 48-50 inches long depending on how I have the stock adjusted.

Don't know about you guys, but I'm always trying to find that 'perfect' setup for me. So far, I'm pretty pleased with the latest: RRA M4 Entry Tactical upper, Colt MT6700C lower, Ergo Grip, Fobus M33 handguards w/ low profile Ergo rail covers, forward rail grip, RRA Entry stock with 1 3/4" buttplate extension (OAL = 8 1/2"). Only thing I'm considering is swapping out the tactical handle. It's built very well and I like the look, but I've been mulling over swapping it for an ARMS #38 Std to lighten it up a bit.

Here is a bit on what i told some time ago about the situation regarding gun laws
Well, i´ll try to keep this short. There is no 2nd amendment kind of right to bear arms. For each weapon you must be able to show a valid reason for owning it, the main reasons are 1. Hunting 2. Sporting use(from clay shooting to IPSC and Reserve 3 gun matches)3. Collecting. The purchase of a weapons goes like: 1. You figure out what kind of weapon you are looking, and depending on the purpose of it, the difficulty in obtaining the purchase permit varies - For hunting, the nation wide hunting licence will normally suffice - For target shooting, the .22 weapons are fairly easy to accuire, for larger pistols and semi auto rifles, you have basically two reasons, IPSC and 3 gun match use, but if you have gone thru the IPSC basic course and do shoot somewhat actively, you will get the permit. - For collecting, the permit situation is changing, you used to apply the status as a collector from the state officials, but there is a change going which will centralize the application handling to one place. Now, you have the purchase permit in hand(costs roughly $14 for normal weapons, around $40 for collecting weapons) You find the weapon you like, the dealer fills the permit, you go withing 30 days to show that the serial numbers are okay and the weapon matches the permit. Now you have the purchase permit until a plastic permit card arrives within 3-4 weeks, you just stop by the station to exchange the temporary permit for the plastic card. It is fairly simple when in use and the Finns are accustomed to it. Best thing is, the prices for Class3 equivalent weapons are microscopic compared to US prices..oh..no $200 tax, fingerprint checks and months of waiting on the suppressors either

I have had good discussions regarding the differences in gun ownership and freedom of living in general with the members here.
