Well, one of them can at least face reality. Post#24: Ron Paul is a first class nut case. He would abolish social security, irs, medicare, medicaid, EPA, virtually any and all forms of government except the military. I live next to his district, and the Austin paper does a decent job of exposing his agenda, which is militant libertarian. No Income tax No Gun Laws No regulations of any kind. So please stop making this guy out as someone whom democrats can align with.

Ron Paul sounds like MY KINDA GUY! A true Conservative. Go Ron! The Austin American-Statesman is perhaps the worst liberal weekly-wipe in Texas. You can be assured anyone that paper attacks you will like. Ron Paul would chew DU'ers a new rug. Interesting

... of unparalleled deceit. "Unparalleled" if only due to mass communications, but with people who label themselves "Christians" without showing charity, people who label themselves "Muslims" without showing respect for life, people who label themselves "conservative" who exploit and plunder the land, and people who label themselves "Americans" but detest dissent, pluralism, due process, habeas corpus, and the Bill of Rights. We have a person occupying the White House who says he's "been to war" but never has, who claims to be "compassionate" yet revels in killing and impoverishing others, who claims a respect for law but hides a criminal record. And don't forget people who label themselves "Liberals" without really trying to hide they are socialists/communists.

Ron Paul has the right idea, far more so than practically anyone else on Capitol Hill. The problem is that his sensible ideas are TOO different than our current reality, and people don't want to give up their security blankets even if they aren't big enough to keep them warm anymore. Rather than criticize Ron Paul over some of his opinions, why don't you investigate his reasoning behind them? You'll find that his opinions are well reasoned. But you'd better be able to handle the truth if you start investigating his views. Otherwise it might hurt. I pay attention to what he's saying and doing, because he's without a doubt the strictest Constitutionalist in Washington, DC. You can learn a lot about what's really going on by watching him. If you are truly a supporter of all of our Constitutionally guaranteed freedoms and want minimal interference from the government in your daily life, then Ron Paul should be your hero and you should be voting for people like him. Aidoneus: Admittedly I've not made much of a study on him, but he seems like a good man, for a politician with an *R* next to his name. Apparently in the past he was a Libertarian, changed to Republican to get office. I don't know much (read: anything) about his economic policies or voting record, but since 9/11 he's written several articles that this far-Left fellow (ie me) agrees with. He attacked the PATRIOT Act, King George II's War on many occasions; echoes many of the same things we here at DU say. Though I'm sure he has some cosmic flaw about him that I don't know about, so far I think pretty highly of him. If he isn't suicided by the Bush Crime Family, he may turn out to be a useful ally against the Bush Cabal. ------- Huh? "Suicided by the Bush family"? Where did he come up with that one?
