"1st off I know nothing about this!!! "
"I read on a website that it has "Reticle illumination" I'm not sure what this is, but I cant get it to do it. ( not sure where the battery or switch is)"

Its sad that some people are in possession of something they never know anything about. Without ebay one of us probably could have picked it up at a garage sale for $20.

interesting point. the buyers are the ones setting the price for the owner.

i like the dark picture.....some one isnt going to be to happy

I don't even need one of those but I WILL be watching that auction carefully. With 4 days left, I doubt it will sell cheaply. I sure hope for the winner of this auction that it is in as good condition as described and functions perfectly.

Do to my lack of info shortbus internet search skills I'm selling this at NO RESERVE, $1 starting bid Please also note this is being sold as-is. but do feel free to ask any questions I will try to help the best I can thanks and happy bidding
Link Posted: 8/31/2005 12:43:36 PM EDT
so what is the current value of this thing? around 600 bucks?
Link Posted: 8/31/2005 1:22:02 PM EDT
More importantly, why hasn't eBay cancelled this auction?

I thought their policy was no firearms or parts/accessories.
Link Posted: 8/31/2005 1:33:57 PM EDT
It's a scam. You can't tell me that someone who can take a digital pic and initiate an online auction on Ebay, can't google.

Type in Elcan m145 and the first hit is $13xx.00 night vision scope.

Definitely something fishy going on there. I had been following that auction and the bidding was up to around $500+ last time I looked (yesterday). Now, I just checked the auction again and it was over but the final bid was ONLY $22.50. This could mean a few different things including that the seller cancelled all of the bids but why he would do something so stupid is beyond me. The only benefit would be paying a reduced commission to Ebay, but if he had already worked something like that with the buyer, then he could have just cancelled the entire auction and received the payment privately. Anyway, whatever happened, it smells very fishy.

Looks like the seller had one negative feedback where they bought something they "didn't know about" buying? Someone may have hacked into their PC and may be having a little fun. My bet is someone made them an offer for a few hundred bucks and they bit. I was going to send them the link where SWFA is getting $950 for that scope. I don't feel like F'n with the Ebay nazis tonight though.

I'd be willin to bet someone here got it...

come on fess up???
Link Posted: 9/4/2005 8:18:17 PM EDT
check out the bid history, he cancelled all the bids saying the item was fraudulent.
Link Posted: 9/4/2005 8:31:13 PM EDT
Yeah, I just checked all the cancelled bids and it still doesn't make much sense. Either way, I call foul play. Something definitely was not right about that transaction, but if someone actually got the genuine product in good condition, then I'm happy for them. Great deal.

I am thinking AIRSOFT.

Fuck EBAY. Right now I tried to list my GWB Haliburton Hurricane Machine and they won't let me sell an item without giving them my credit card number. Bastards!

Check out past auctions he was involved in:

cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=4074&item=6550762120

Apparently knows about Accuracy International rifles, but doesnt know what an Elcan is????

That's the BUYER, who obviously jumped right on that deal.

same winning bidder
Link Posted: 9/5/2005 10:26:13 PM EDT
Yeah, this screams BULLSHIT...

I just googled his auction title just to see what would happen,

"ELCAN M145" came up with 562 websites, the very 1st one listed on google as...

nightvisionweb.com - ELCAN M145
ELCAN M145 rifle scope with M240/M249 reticule and Torque knob mount, $1357.00
ELCAN M145 rifle scope with M240/M249 reticule and Wingnut mount, $1214.00 ...
www.nightvisionweb.com/el_m_145.htm - 15k - Cached - Similar pages

sorry, but if he looked up on a website that it has "Reticle illumination", then the moron would have seen how much a real one costs. God I hate scamming fuckers...

EPOCH

Hmmm.

Well, this one is an airsoft Elcan (not modeled after the same model apparently).

Somebody is going to get extremely lucky or be extremely pissed off.

eBay is evil.

I was watching David Faber's "The eBay Effect - Inside a Worldwide Obsession" this morning and it just reinforced my belief that the relationship between eBay and PayPal is of a questionable nature.

I think I would be wary of buying anything on eBay.

OK I get it...he is selling a $220 airsoft Elcan, pretending he doesn't know what it is, in order to get bids that are hundreds of dollars higher than the actual value of the item. No wonder he has to cancel the auction due to "fraud"

But why cancel the bids?

In his ad he says,

Well, here we go. 1st off I know nothing about this!!! I recently purchased my 1st house and there was a box of stuff left in the closet. so here we are.

For someone that doesn't know anything about the item, he sure sells a lot of sights and firearms related parts.
