With Geno Smith?... That will be close. The easiest games on their schedule are Jets, Giants, Falcons, Panthers, Saints and Lions. They could probably accidentally win 3/4 of those.

I doubt he'll be the starter come regular season. I'm surprised DK and Tyler are still there. What a shit show.

They can't let DK go. They just can't. Seattle has been looking for that freak style of receiver (size, speed, strength) forever. They finally got one, and they let their quarterback go, so they have to keep him... Right? RIGHT!?

But there were rumors of them shopping Lockett. That's a tough sale though as he carries a lot of dead cap so they likely would only move him for an ideal trade.

They did get that 9th pick from the Broncos, will Malik Willis still be on the board (most likely yes)? Will he manage as a rookie starter?

Their "QB away" argument is quickly disappearing.

That said. Fuck it. Make room for new, talented players.

6 teams won 5 or fewer last year.
9 in 2020.
8 in 2019.

They also are in what is most assuredly the toughest division in the NFC.
The Bucs got Brady back.
Broncos got Russell Wilson.
They also play the Chiefs, Chargers and Raiders.

11th toughest schedule based on 2021 results.

It could be close. Quarterback gone. Offensive line is still questionable. Rotating injured running backs. Two very very expensive safeties while losing Wagner... We'll see.

Heard a story this morning that sportsbooks are calling for an investigation into Brady's return due to some shady betting activity prior to his announcement. Some big bets placed for TB to win the Superbowl at 60:1 odds a week before his return, sounds like some inside info was driving those bets

Investing in a RB when you just lost two guards is certainly a choice.

I wouldn't consider this a break.

He was apparently telling lots of people based on the reports from other athletes and the Bucs front office. I'm sure he told a number of people in his private life who told someone who told someone who told someone.

But what are you going to investigate? There's nothing illegal in there. The smart money would have been to bet on them winning the division though, not the Super Bowl. Much more likely payout.

It's better than losing him. He is very talented for that price point. Combine him with a rookie RB from later in the draft. Good to go at RB.

Herman told The AP that Washington senior VP of football administration Rob Rogers lied to him and fellow agent Jared Fox during a meeting at the scouting combine earlier this month by saying the team had no plans to release Ioannidis.

"We don't particularly care to be lied to our face," Herman said. "They took him out of the free agent market now for two days. That puts us now at a disadvantage because other teams have paid other defensive linemen contracts, and (Ioannidis) hasn't been able to take advantage of that. That's not the way you conduct business in the National Football League."

A Commanders spokesman said the team had no comment.

I agree there were plenty of people that knew. It's just the oddsmakers that are pissed because they see big loss potential. If any of the bettors are involved with the NFL that would be a league problem, not illegal in the broad sense but it violates league policy and could result in suspensions

Indeed. That's what that new "Genius Sports" company is signed on for. Whatever casinos took the bets could report the bet-ee's information to Genius Sports for review of NFL association.

Of course a friend of a friend placing a bet is perfectly fine.
