This was a good friend & fellow officer of my brother inlaws.  He spent most of last night at the hospital.

Officer's heart is punctured, he's not likely to make it.

Drunk driver.

Officer Struck During Funeral Procession

BALTIMORE --  A Maryland Transportation Authority Police officer is in critical condition after a traffic accident during a large funeral procession in northwest Baltimore.

Officer Robert Krauss, 38, was escorting the procession on his police motorcycle about noon Wednesday when he was hit by a van near Gwynns Falls Parkway and Denison Street.

Krauss landed on the hood of the van and fell to the street. He suffered multiple internal injuries and needed more than three hours of emergency surgery at Shock Trauma.

He is an 18-year veteran of the force.

Yet another reason why drinking and driving should be a capital offense in EVERY case.

heMaybe it is time to stop the "funeral procession" thing. I mean I was at a wreck about two or three months ago when my well run (if I say so myself) scene was disrupted by a "funeral procession". This guy (non-LE) brought the damn thing AROUND the engine and through were we were trying to load several Pt's.
Now the police did not take kindly to this and this funeral home will not make the same mistake.hat

Don't mean to rant-it is just such a shame for one of us to get hurt doing things like this. To me it rates right up there with firefighters getting killed for an ABANDONED building, or a cop getting shot by a "barricaded gunman", I mean what is the point in this shit going on? When will we learn?

Stay Safe Bros.

That seems to help me prove my point, I again respect the dead and all that they have done throught their lives, I just do not see the reason to rush a BODY to a grave site for it to be droped into the ground. Why do we continue to kill ourselves doing this. hinking.gif
