I guess it makes sense though, It's still costing me money.

All JB Hunt drivers have to have their trucks parked by 1800 local time Sunday, and cannot move again until 0600 Monday.  I don't much like it.

Is that company policy or a law of some sort?

why, to keep the trucks off the rode due to drunks out there driving?

I'd rather be driving, that's what.  When I'm rolling at top speed, I'm making about 25 bucks an hour.

Is it for tax purposes or safety?

Stupid suits. Don't they realize it is easier to dodge the drunks when you are moving!

Is anyone else here old enough to remember when it was against the law for commercial trucks (semis) to be on the road on Sundays and holidays?????   Not to mention the fact that trailers were limited to 40 feet in length???????

Never even heard of that.  If it was like that, thank God we got away from that communist BS, I can usually make 675 miles on a good sunday. That's damn near 300 bucks in my pocket.

That's really weird.
how many drunks are out on the freeway in the middle of nowhere????

Seems bizzare.
Can they do that, with your contract?  or do you just have to use it as sleep time?

I drive a lot too, but in a car.  What I see on the road amazes me.  I have no idea how you do it.  I think I would just drive over some of the idiots I see out there.

My favorite prayer before and after major holidays:

Dear Lord
I know the road is going to be filled with a lot of jerks today.
Please give me the patience to deal with them.
Or the ability to anticipate their moves when they do something stupid.
Amen

After safely arriving at my destination:

THANK YOU LORD!!!!

I see a lot of JB Hunt trucks in my trips across New York.  I90 in NY is a second home to me.  I think they are doing it for two reasons.
1)  They don't want some drunk running into one of their trucks.
2)  They don't want to be the drunk running one of their own trucks.

Of course, they will probably only cause the accident through some stupid maneauver and tehe drive on blissfully unaware of the debris field in their wake.
