For some reason I've developed a fascination with odd caliber uppers. I just ordered another .458 SOCOM upper and I also have a .499 L-W upper on order. Now I feel like I need a .338 Spectre upper.

.458 SOCOM is a really fun round and I like the idea of the firepower that .458 SOCOM and .499 L-W deliver. The thing is that these things cost about 50%-100% more than 5.56 uppers and the ammo is 5-10 times as expensive as 5.56.

Why, oh why?

Oh well...at least I'll have the most interesting guns at the range.

Why the hell not? It's your money, blow it on whatever you want.

I myself would like to try the 50 Beowulf... although someting tells me that I will be disappointed...

.499 L-W uppers cost more than .50 Beowulf, but the ammo is cheaper.

.50 Beowolf was basically one of the development rounds that led to the .499 L-W.

I had a 50 Beo and sold it, man, I wish hadn't have done it now.

I have a 6.5 grendel, 9mm, .357sig, and hopefully in a few months I'll be the pround owner of a 500Phantom

Why is that, it only hit a small bump going smoothly now though. Ammo is going to be the real problem for me though. One of the other GB members that I trust has offered to load me some ammo.

$4 a round is pricey as all hell, and he's not making a profit either
