The Affordable Care Act [] has begun to take effect. I went to the doctor today. He's out of my insurance plan, so I have paid $85 per visit. Today, the fee was $160. The doctor said that it's due to Obamacare. They have new procedure codes, and because Obamacare presumes that doctors have been overbilling (when in fact they generally underbill), everyone is now billing for every service provided, presumably to establish a baseline fee structure they can live with.
I am still baffled by the claim that insuring 100% of the population will be cheaper than insuring 85%. I am more baffled by the idea that health care is a federal responsibility under the Constitution. |

They ruined it for the rest of us you know too.
My insurance isn't great, it is a safety net for incase something really bad happens, but doesn't do much to cover the small stuff. Paying cash for checkups or physicals used to be pretty cheap, now it isn't. So I either get to pay more cash, or attempt to claim it and make our safety net less effective for us. |
|
Of course better insurance, better physicians, and better facilities are going to cost more!!!
Oh wait, this style of system ruins nice things. |

I'm sorry for your troubles.
If it makes any difference, the guy who sleeps outside my building has been keeping me up for weeks with that crack smoker cough of his. Thanks to President Obl*wme and his nifty healthcare, my junkie alleymate can breathe free and I can sleep well. Try to keep your priorities straight. THE GREATER GOOD. |

Preaching to the choir. I've been without since I got a divorce. I got this crappy discount plan, that pays a flat fee if you get xyz, kinda like aflac, but I have to pay everything up front. Found out during my last visit, after they ran my bloodwork and ekg, that they no longer accept my plan.
Then they wanted to send me to a specialist for a stress test just to make sure nothing was wrong. I had made the appointment, until I found out they dropped the coverage, then canceled. This was two months ago, still waiting on the actual bill to get sorted out. Since my divorce, I don't have any assets in my name, not even my car, so fuck BHO if I die. You ain't getting shit in death taxes, you gotta send FSA checks to my kids till they turn 18, and you ain't getting any more taxes outta my paychecks. |

I got to stop reading threads like this or else my blood pressure is going to stay high!

Just think how bad it would be if OsamaCare was actually full on universal health care. I do not want to even think of what might happen if legislation evolved to become that.

The few times i've went to hospitals for my back problems, I got double billed for quite a few things and billed for tests we talked about doing but didn't actually do. Just my isolated case? |

I am a neuroradiologist and pain management physician.
Often, we are asked to do more than one scan or procedure in a day. The new laws state that if we do more than one thing in a day, the second thing must be billed at a severe (>50%) discount. Therefore... We are no longer doing more than one thing in a day on any patient. If you need both your cervical (neck) and Lumbar (low back) looked at because you were in an accident and have pain... plan on 2 separate visits from now on. I still have to pay my office staff... you still take the same amount of time in the scanner... my computer still has to run your data... I still have to read it... and I still have the same liability for that read and everything that occurs during your visit. Now... think about all the times you go to the doctor for a 'cough'... and say... "BTW... my knee really has been hurting lately." He will be glad to say, "Sure... we will look at that when you schedule your next visit." Gotta love progress. |

My agent called, my high deductible HSA isn't good enough for Øbamacare, thus I get to purchase a much higher priced policy and I can't deduct $7,500, the amount I put in my HSA account for the year, from my pre tax income. Thus I also get to pay more in taxes with no benefit for me, since I work for a living.

She has some pretty serious medical issues right now, and he was mentioning that they have to make multiple trips to the doctor these next few weeks (70 miles one way). She will be having some procedures done, and he said his out-of-pocket for it is going to be right about $6,000, whereas last year it was about 1/4 of that. And last year, it was more than 1 procedure each visit. Needless to say, he is NOT a happy man. |

So explain to me again HOW the working middle class is going to benefit and HOW hes helping the middle class? 3 weeks into his 2nd term and our checks are $50 less than they were last year....FBHO

I've said it before and I'm saying it again. Obamacare is the end of a free country. We are all socialists now. When they have control of healthcare, they have control of your body, I.E. control of you! Guns are the last real nail in freedoms coffin.

i am struggling on how RAISING taxes on medical equipment save people healthcare money....
turns out its not at all about saving money...its about sticvking it to working folk to just pay for FSA... (ahem.. BUYING VOTES) |

Its completely idiotic.
If you have TOO GOOD of healthcare... ie the Cadillac plans... you get taxed. If you have TOO BAD of healthcare... you get taxed. If you have and HSA... you can't put money into it... because that money doesn't generate taxes and therefore cannot give to the FSA. Basically... if you live and breath in America... you can be taxed for it. Make sure you thank John Roberts Supreme Court Justice of Lunacy... because HE is the real cause of all this shit. His idiocy in interpreting a PENALTY as a 'living tax' is what made this all possible. The only good thing is that SwHTF in the next 2 years concerning medical care... and the Midterms will be ripe for turnover if the Republicans don't put in a bunch of Monkey Trap Fucks who can't let go of Abortion as their main reason for living. You haven't seen ANYTHING yet... concerning what you thought you knew about healthcare. You are going to 'remember the good old days....' when you could pay through the nose... but actually get care. |
