http://washingtontimes.com/news/2009/sep/18/obama-ties-immigration-to-health-care-battle/?feat=home_cube_position1 This is like the Great Carsoni...."and the answer is ......(drum-roll) AMNESTY" Yes, with 12% unemployment we need to add some incentive to illegals not only to stay here, but for more of them to come and compete for the non-existent jobs. This guy is a genius. |

at least his handlers are... The worse things are, the more extreme things "the people" will let him do in the name of "bringing us out of this"...
Mike |

If that asshole didn't like the response to his socialized medicine he will down right hate America's response to sham-nasty. It could get really ugly.
Once again, Obongo is just continuing Bush's bullshit. I still say they're owned by the same bankers. The only thing that's changed is the spin and the fact that bamalama is pushing it harder.
Of course, died in the wool mainstream republicrats and demublicans can't seem to see that fact. I guess the truth hurts too much. This country needs a strong third party, but the folks who own the republican and democrat parties will fight that tooth and nail unless they can own it too... which would make the whole thing pointless. |
I guess it's not like I'm surprised. Horrible timing on Obama's part, though.

Immigration is broken? No shit? Where the hell have I been, glad I have someone around to tell me these things.

Our immigration system is NOT broken.
Actually NOTHING in the American system is "broken"...except every fucking law that exists to keep us out of these messes. FUCK OBAMA. |
Hey Obama, immigration isn't broken. It works just fine when it's lawfully implemented. It's our border that's broken a**hole!
FORNICATE OBAMA - because saying FUCK OBAMA shows how unedumicated we all is.
the .gov is broke (systematically, financially and morally)
guess who's the proffesed leader king ? |

How political of him, just like Bush and Clinton and every other politician.
"Our immigration System is Broken" 1) States the obvious. 2) Offers no solution. |

We the people aren't broken (yet). We have too many laws and too many bureaucrats. High prices of prescription drugs?––answer: Privatize the FDA. Those people who want BS "alternative" medicine––let them. Those who want a certification from some private certifying company––pay a small bit extra for certification or trust your doctor and pharmacist. Those who can't affort anything––nothing will ever be distributed perfectly, especially not to ignorant deadbeats. Medical Care cost too high?––answer: end the insurance mandates, end the business tax breaks for coverage and let people contract individually or in associations for insurance. Hold up contract law. If the contract says no coverage for X, then no coverage for X. Cost of jail system too high?––answer: cut costs in half by legalizing drugs. Drug users under the influence too abundant?––answer: put them in bare-bones mental institutions for progressively longer stays or until they die, whichever comes first. They are, after all, insane. repeat for nearly all issues facing us. |

No, Immigration is not broke
Border enforcement and ilegal immigrant roundup is broken Enforce the borders and the immigration problem goes away.

This is the next issue the Obongo admin will use to in their "arsenal" to overwhelm our system.
BE VIGILANT! |
What comes to mind while reflecting on him pushing immigration is that he and his party are going to pander to the demographic for votes and dilute the pool. Simultaneously maintaining their power with a demographic that has a history of supporting Marxists.
Democrats are apparently hell bent for leather to get throttled in the mid terms. Where the Messiah fucked up is pushing national health care. Now that it's connected to amnesty, the American people can't think of one without thinking of the other. This makes amnesty even more difficult to pass than ever.
The system works if you use it.
Enforce the existing laws and deport 20 million lawbreakers. |
Yes, the immigration system is broken, but mainly because we don't have a goddamn wall built along the southern border.
The politicians of this country need to grow a pair of big hairy gonads and shut things down, build a wall, and kick those who don't belong here out! |
I am not for amnesty, obviously. The border jumpers should be sent home. We need to know who is coming here for work. We should not grant visas to criminals, and any foreign national convicted of a violent crime should be on the next plane back to where they came from.
That being said, I'll agree with "Our immigration system is broken". My SIL (hard working and law abiding) is a legal immigrant and is working on becoming a citizen. The stories I hear from her and my brother about dealing with incompetent, arrogant assholes makes my blood boil. People make appointments and travel long distances to immigration offices just to wait all fucking day and hear some smug moron say "We're not going to get to you today, you need to make another appointment". They have the immigrants by the balls and they know it. God help us all if our health care winds up the same way. It is not surprising that some people grow sick of playing by the rules. We need accountability with these government employees. Fire the assholes and promote the people with integrity. Somehow, I don't think that is how Obama plans to fix the system. |
It's broke alright. There is no fence and they don't enforce the immigration laws.
The statement 'Our immigration system is broken' is correct.
We do not allow enough LEGAL immigrants, and it is too much of a pain in the ass for those who want to come here LEGALLY to get here, stay here, and become citizens... Further, it is way, way too easy to stay here as an illegal... Over 40% of 'illegals' came here legally at first The 'solution', however, is not amnesty... Far from it... Amnesty for illegals is as stupid an idea, as legalizing drugs to reduce crime.... The 'solution' is a combination of 'carrot' and 'stick'... First, 'stick' - enact laws requiring electronically verifiable photo ID be shown and validated (in person) for all forms of employment and banking transactions involving the opening of a new account, or the issuance of a loan or line of credit. Enforce said laws against the banks and employers... Also, anyone deported from the US would have their biometric information (All 10 fingers & a retinal image) entered into a 'prohibited from re-entry' database. Second, 'carrot' - enact laws simplifying and expediting the number of LEGAL immigrants allowed into the US, while maintaining the requirement that anyone ever deported from the US be automatically barred from legal reentry (backed by the aforementioned deportee database). The illegal immigration problem would largely cure itself with those things done... |
He really is doing everything possible to 1) become Jimmy Carter 2.0 and 2) be a one term president.
bravo! |
I am a firm believer that Bush wanted illegals to be legal to get them on the books to pay taxes and Social Security because they both need more revenue.
Obama wants them legal so they can vote and keep the country going socialist, |
If you cannot fix something that is quite plainly your responsibility and written in clear language in the Constitution, why are we even contemplating letting this same entity have ANY say over health care REFORM. Obviously the reformers need the reform. Their failures are legion.

Stronger employer sanctions and enforcement of existing laws. Stronger employer sanctions and enforcement of existing laws. one more time, for the Pittsburgh Steeler fans... Stronger employer sanctions and enforcement of existing laws. We did it in Arizona, and it's.... WORKING! |

My wife is a hard working legal immigrant. The local immigration office is the biggest clusterfuck I've ever encountered in my entire life. When we go there we encounter every negative government agency stereotype that exists. I can't fathom how one agency can be so fucked up! And what the hell is with the security? You'd think you were going in for an audience with the Emperor. |

A recession or depression may be a good time to fix things. They are leaving because there is no work. Plug the holes, bail out the water, and get things sailing again while the tide is low...

Allow many more visas for those seeking to make a better life in America, lots of cheap labor could help us not offshore manufacturing jobs. At the same time clamp down on illegals, especially those who willingly employ illegal aliens. Win win.

When you are talking about people who have access to the social welfare safety net, are not high net worth people or high earners, and who are coming into a situation with existing high employment, all it will do is make the situation worse. We need to make getting a green card easy again, but we don't need to permit half of Mexico to come to the US right now unless we annex the place and run it properly. |
